They’re desperate to find a scapegoat to rally their supporters against in order to try to alleviate the tension/dissent within the right that threatens power—especially after the Admin’s handling of the Epstein case caused more internal turmoil. This is an attempt to try bring back herd cohesion and tribal mentality, to get MAGA back under control.
We know that this is a weak point, as they’ll keep trying to throw out a new scapegoat to see what sticks. The fractures are an opportunity; if we want to stop authoritarianism, we need to keep trying to unify those they seek to divide (pitting people against each other along party lines) while maintaining dissent within the group they’re trying to unite.
There are Conservatives who are anti-Big Government, anti-elite, anti-Big Pharma, pro-democracy and pro-States Rights. They haven’t gone anywhere, but the algorithms/narratives are trying real hard to make them forget their values (the ones that are now inconvenient), outsource their critical thought, and grab a pitchfork with a more unified MAGA.
Hi Jim. Thanks so much for your work. I am reading a lot about the 2025 folks having their fill of Trump, so want to get rid of him via 25th amendment. What is the likelihood T would realize they are wanting to do this, so he dumps Vance and replaces him with Jr. as VP. Is that technically even possible? I tend to think Vance would be even worse than T because he would be less bombastic and vulgar, so could slip stuff under the radar better.

Meanwhile the two contending “MAGA”camps, Authoritarians and Oligarchs, are trying to ride that nag over the Project 2025 finish line. At some point soon, though, they’re likely to decide that Vance will be a more viable steed and they’ll find a way to “retire” Doddering Don. They may be worried, though, that if the Epstein Affair goes much farther everyone is going to be revealed as a filthy pedophile. So my prediction is that the current standoff won’t last much longer.
