Thanks Jim for your rational knowledge and approach to this “problem” we have in truly moderating human will and desire. Hopefully by 2030 the politics of it all will provide a more balanced perspective.

It’s not hard to imagine how AI could cause massive disruption in many industries, even life threatening in sensitive places like hospitals or research labs. But, aren’t these applications dependent on electricity sources of some type? Seems that a solution for some pending ongoing threat from an AI unit would be to simply deprive it of power. What am I missing?

nothing. they would have to marshall physical resources. there are enormous risks but none of them are extinction or abundance.
