It was edifying to hear Ayanna Presley call Musk out w such righteous anger. I hear you, Jim. None of the polite-voiced analysis CNN or MSNBC (except Rachel and Joy) does anything to TRULY make it clear.
I'd suggest Social Threefolding as a blueprint for a true democratic republic. There are three spheres, the Economic, the Judiciary/Governing Body, and the Cultural , which is The Commons,
We The People and the institutions we foster, like health care, education, non-profits etc.
Each Sphere has rules to abide by.
Rules example: The Economic sphere has no business meddling in the Cultural Sphere or the Judiciary. For the Economic Sphere, this means no privatization of cultural institutions, no lobbying except for by the people themselves, no campaign donations and living with the regulations issued by the Judiciary Sphere.
This is such an interesting and beautiful idea- I wonder if we could have a longer discussion on … what it would look like, How problems get solved, etc.
We had that man. His name was Bernie Sanders. The goddamn elite Democrats kneecapped him. Then they served us Trump on a tacky gold platter.
The elite Democrats are as much to blame for Trump’s rise by not letting us have Bernie who was a populist who wanted to tax the billionaires and help the planet.
I am embarrassed to admit that I NOW see that to be true, Bernie would have had a hand in turning this all around. And now it's too late for Bernie. Instead, I voted for Hillary, then Joe, then Kamala, and lost, basically, all three, for one reason or another.
I agree. Time to learn from our mistakes and create something better out of the ashes.

I'd put Lawrence O'Donnell in that class too. That man is FULL of righteous anger about what's going on.

Again, Jim, when history is written, you will emerge as a hero of this time, when few dare to speak or even see the truth
This is not a short turnaround
Richard III: My kingdom for a horse.
Elon Musk: A wank for a horse.

I hate to acknowledge the truth of this — but knowing what we know now, it’s clearly true. And boy does it hurt.

Populism was originally a left-ish uprising against the eastern bankers and the establishment after the civil war.
Lawrence Goodwin's The Populist Moment tells this inspiring story.
