Blue Man Coup: They Really Believe It
How RFK’s unique complexion shows us what we’re really up against.
While observing Robert Kennedy complaining about food dyes, I made the observation that he seems, well, pretty purple. I was reminded of the cult leader in the documentary “Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God” who died after ingesting colloidal silver, which turns you blue — and destroys your liver.

Well, as sometimes happens on social media, I learned more. Commenters on my post pointed out that he was seen drinking a blue substance on an airplane two months ago.
This was noticed mostly by international media and forgotten about, but RFK Jr. is almost certainly taking methylene blue, a unique compound that is both a very potent dye and crosses the blood-brain barrier, which is why people’s brains who take it look like this afterward.
The side effects are numerous, and the benefits highly speculative. The “fish medicine” also truly appears to be making him a different color than his fellow white men.

The takeaway here is not so much that the HHS Director is a purveyor of deadly propaganda, this is well-established. But I think this shows that he actually believes his own bullshit — and I think that makes him even more dangerous than he’s already proven to be.
How can it be that someone as educated as RFK Jr. can be this ignorant and gullible?
I was privileged to interview Katherine Stewart this morning about her book “Money Lies and God” on my podcast Radicalized.
The book should be read by anyone who wants to understand the numerous dark undercurrents that have overtaken American democracy and how they met up. It also takes apart the complex relationship between objective reality, the “collective psychosis” of the Christian Nationalist New Right, and the massive waves of dark money that funds it all.
But this passage struck me as a very good description of how you get people like RFK.
“When you pay people to be unreasonable, you attract many unreasonable people. You may even become a bit of a crank yourself. If your power depends on lying to the people, that doesn’t make you noble. It just leaves you with a choice: accept that you are a fraud or embrace the lie.” [emphasis added]
RFK has been so consumed by the vortex of deadly lies that he’s helped enable over decades, that they’re consuming him — and turning him blue. And Donald Trump is so amoral and dedicated to the continued production of those lies that he’s willing to put the health of 350 million people in the hands of someone manifestly insane.
But while it may seem a bit too much to recover from, given four more years of this to come, there is reason to stay hopeful. Public pressure still has a role to play, as does direct activism. Elon Musk says he already “wants to leave politics because he’s tired of ‘attacks’ from the left.” Needless to say, one should remain doubtful of anything he has to say, and he’s already installed his operatives through the government, but a victory is still a victory given the terrible damage he’s already done.

RFK Jr.’s skin turning blue is a dark but apt allegory for what America will be going through during the second Trump administration, the gradual asphyxiation of our democracy as we slowly fade to black.
Or, we decline RFK Jr.’s blue Flavor-Aid, and collectively rise up.

He seems like a person who would also take colloidal silver. Maybe his home remedies will soon get the better of him
A work of art.
