I’m a little clueless - what is Jim guessing that Thiel wants to say but is restraining himself because it would hurt Trump?

What was/is the magasphere view of Luigi Mangione?

Countries like China with a very long history (who also know and understand their history and the history of other countries) always do well because they avoid their past mistakes; therefore, increasing their chances of being successful in the present. The US on the other hand neurotically keeps repeating their mistakes: Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan. US keeps trying to make the world be what they want or think the world should be. It doesn't work that way.

For all the "intelligence" of the broligarchy, they are ignorant of history. After obtaining great wealth and power, men have long sought immortality. So many Chinese emperors failed, but ignorant Thiel thinks he will succeed.

It would be so much better for them and for everyone else if they would just give away a lot of their wealth in order to benefit others. This is the ancient wisdom of prophets and the tradition of the indigenous.

It's human life on Earth that's chaotic, handing out pain and catastrophe at random. What evil people possess is a kind of philosopher's stone (the original reputedly enabled alchemists to turn lead into gold) that distills all possibilities except the very worst ones out of any given moment in creation, and turns them loose.

No it's not. It's breaking *open* and the next iteration - like the creature in Alien - is about to emerge.

The worst is yet to come.

I have watched the clip of Thiel before. It is indeed excruciating to watch a dark trial struggle and ultimately fail, to act like a normal human being. You just can’t see anything human in him, no matter how hard you look, there is nothing of that ilk to see here. He makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Off the top of my head, other voices that do that are Dr Phil and Russell brand and of course the thankfully dead Jimmy Saville.

What is he even talking about? Does he stutter like that or is he nervous?

Why is Peter Thiel melting? All those billions and he can’t afford an image consultant or a makeup artist or a speech coach?

The reason we are still here is because good wins to enough over bad on the margin to keep going. Good wins in the end. Always. It’s a great motivator to fight hard. We can’t lose even once, that’s the rub. Slava it all. Fuck Putin.
