Jim, I find myself alternating between the idea that they stole this election with DeJoy destroying mail in ballots, trump allies owning both voting technology companies (this is a fact), and the tech bros controlling the media and social media. Or people just said fuck it, democracy is too much work. Not sure which is real in this Orwellian time.

The systemic failure of government & press, is evidence of the death throes of our failed, extractive, capitalistic experiment in creating community and equitably distributing resources. Joanna Macy has eloquently, scientifically described this in her story of “The Great Turning”

Glad to read of your desire to experiment with increased involvement in Substack —- a platform I am finding both diverse and respectful.

I agree. It's disgusting to watch. If I hear another "in four years" or "in the next election cycle" I will scream. They truly do not understand the depths of what is happening and their own flat-footed response.

The media is looking in the wrong direction, there have been a couple of commentators who have been telling it like it is: Rachel Madow and Joy Reid, both on MSNBC. Joy in particualar has been taking about the racism and misogyny that is firmly established in the minds of millions. Don't give up on them.
