DEBUNK: New York Times
Disinformation actors managed to convince NYT to print a preposterous theory about “Q”
The New York Times printed this article that strongly suggests that Paul Furber and Ron Watkins were the people who wrote the “Q” LARP.
That is simply not true. That idea is intentionally planted disinformation. I debunked it on my podcast below.
Disinformation Agents
When looking at any information, especially on a subject as serious as QAnon, it’s critical to see where it’s coming from. This is more than two months ago.
These two people are professional disinformation agents. Mike Rothschild is allies with people who started Q. He has done nothing but intentionally insert disinformation into the discourse and to target people who don’t fit his narrative. He gets very upset when anyone mentions Russia. On the other hand Russia Today loved his book.
Fred Brennan built Q’s main website 8chan and led the misogynistic cult GamerGate that was turned into the alt-right. He wrote a pro-eugenics article in the Daily Stormer. His magical conversion to being anti-Q after 8chan went dark is a LARP. He hates Jim and Ron Watkins because he believes they ripped him off.
Fred Brennan had “Jim Stewartson is unwell” in his profile for months as part of what has been a year and a half long campaign to discredit and defame me.
Fred Brennan has been using his experience in GamerGate to build a “leftist” cult to target people who don’t accept their false narrative.
The “Analysis”
This is part of the Orphanalytics report that the New York Times chose to amplify. This Swiss “startup” points to the “proportional flow of messages” as a reason to believe there were only two authors of “Q.”
This is simply fallacious. The reason for the change was that the team changed and they deployed different tactics.
The chart they posted actually represents what happened — although they got the transition dates slightly wrong. I re-labeled it to better reflect reality.
Paul Furber believes the first Q was real. He was on the boards and interacted with Q and still believes it was real military intelligence that got infiltrated by the CIA and/or Israeli intelligence. He is a mentally ill, white supremacist QAnon believer. The idea that he created Q is simply preposterous.
The reason Furber’s “stylometrics” matches Q is that Furber imitated it constantly.
Correlation is not causation. These “scientists” matched Furber’s writing style backwards from his admitted imitation of Q.
The Actual Q
As I have meticulously shown, Mike Flynn is the person responsible for directing the Q LARP and has been from day one.
Q1
Here are the people who actually started the “Q” LARP. There were many others involved in planning and support operations. But these are the ones who were there. This crew was in charge for the first week when James Brower left on 11/4/17. At that point others were invited on to the server.
However, “Microchip” aka Justin McConney was almost certainly there through 11/11/17.
Q2
Here are some of the people who got involved on 4chan after Q1 left.
Note that many of these dangerous LARPs moved to 8chan if they got too extreme for 4chan. This was the formula that worked for GamerGate.
Some of the people who got involved with the Q LARP on 4chan were either too disruptive or not useful to the plan, so when the LARP moved they got cut out.
This included Paul Furber. And Thomas Schoenberger.
Q3
The Q LARP moved to 8chan after a lot of infighting. For the first half of 2018 these were many, but certainly not all of the people who were involved in developing and writing “Q drops.” It was primarily centered around “Patriots Soapbox” a QAnon YouTube channel that as frequented by the Flynn family to raise money for the “Flynn Defense Fund.”
Q4
On August 8th, 2018 (88 being an important number to neo-nazis), Jack Posobiec and others wrested control of QAnon away from Patriots Soapbox, Tracy Diaz and Jerome Corsi / Infowars. This was supplemented by an avalanche of media disinformation, including an “exposé” by Posobiec in September 2018 that correctly pointed at “Dreamcatcher” and “Microchip” as the original authors of “Q.”
However Posobiec failed to name Doug Stewart, James Brower, Justin McConney and Manuel Chavez III. And he failed to mention that he and his allies had already regained control of Q.
Conclusion
While I don’t believe the New York Times intentionally printed disinformation, I believe it was fooled by sophomoric pseudoscience delivered by liars.
It failed every journalistic and scientific standard in printing this article. The effect of this is to confuse the American public by pointing the finger at patsies which takes the focus away from Flynn and his allies.
The New York Times should retract this disinformation immediately.
NYT should know better. But does it want to play a role in keeping the USA a democracy.
Now with Putin starting WW-3 in Ukraine it becomes even more important to silence the 5th column at work in the USA.
Been reading up on Baquet./NYT. Watched your pod about Q. yikes Hoping you and your family are enjoying a peaceful Monday.
