This has been quite a week, both as a writer and as a citizen. I was packing up to sit for a trial to be judged by a federal court on whether my free speech should cost me millions of dollars that I don’t have, while the executive branch of the federal government is literally waging war its own citizens—and constructing a phantom “enemy within” to excuse it.
Mike Flynn bailed out of his court appearance at the last minute, but cost me an enormous amount of time, money, and stress to prepare—as designed. His “defamation” case has nothing to do with my words; it’s about punishing me for telling the truth, and making an example out of me to warn others. So be it. If I have to be an example, it will not be the one Flynn wants. The case was continued until March 2026, but we’re not going to wait for that.
Simultaneously, the Trump regime has shut down the government to ensure that millions of Americans will be kicked off of health insurance, while it invades Democratic cities with a violent, anonymous paramilitary that assaults and abducts people at will.
A few days ago, commenting on layoffs during the government shutdown, Donald Trump said: “I hate to tell you, but we are cutting Democrat programs.” Among the “Democrat programs” Trump had OMB Director Russ Vought cut are all special education programs, and the ability for America to detect and fight deadly diseases.
The ugly truth about this is that “Democrat programs” are now everything that protects American citizens. The cuts at CDC will decimate our ability to detect and combat deadly diseases, which do not care what political party you are from. Millions of people will die, needlessly.
Similarly, special education is hardly a partisan issue, and the healthcare Democrats are trying to protect benefit red states as much or more than blue states.
None of it makes politically, because we are in a post-political world. The only politics is power, and all the power is being used to destroy the political system, both domestically and internationally. That’s what creating “Antifa” and the Trump-Putin-Qatar trilateral are all about. The goal of the regime is a one-party state aligned with a new Axis of Evil—before the midterms. I wish I had better news.
