One thing to think about is that Kankles knows he doesn’t have that much time left. But the damage he can do to our lovely country is severe. He wants the Nobel Peace prize and a way into heaven. I don’t think he will get either!!!!

This well-written piece convinced me to subscribe. Thank you for putting this all together eloquently. I am disgusted by SCOTUS and its decisions of late. My father was racist, and at least one of my uncles; a source of many an argument. I see them in the justices who have been making these decisions.

That they are trying to make an underclass will hasten what I have seen coming for some time: a civil war. Eighty years ago, the world defeated fascism. At a cost of millions of lives. We may have to do it again. Can we do it peacefully? I was heartened by the reaction this evening to our local protest: more horns honked in support than last week. The protests planned for October 18 will tell us if we have a chance of avoiding armed conflict with this century's fascists. We can hope.

Thank you, Jim, for this at the end of a grim, uber-sobering day.

Thank you for your well written essay. I felt the same way when these same justices made the Dobbs decision.

Immediately, women became second class citizens - or worse. Incubators - again. The Catholic view of when life begins was forced on all American women.

The same justices who have swung these decisions LIED to the SENATE and to the American people on televised interviews before the Senate about respecting “precedent”. They are not only not respecting “precedent”, they are not respecting the United States Constitution itself.

This is a rogue Supreme Court which has no business even operating in the United States government.

The Trump Administration will be buried by their human trafficking record.

G.Maxwell told Todd Blanche that “If you met Epstein, there is no way that this cast of characters, of which it’s extraordinary, and SOME are in your CABINET, who you value as your CO-WORKERS, and you know...”

A normal DOJ representative would ask “what Cabinet members? What co-workers are you referring to?”

Note: Plural !!!

But not Todd Blanche - because Todd Blanche was also the President’s former attorney.

So - Jim - not only is President Trump a man who hangs around known pedophiles but memberS of the cabinet have also.

Given that mentality that this President and his cabinet are made up of the lowest of the low people morally speaking - why are we surprised by this Supreme Court?

They are protecting their pedophile buddies

Men who thought it was fine to use and abuse young women/girls. - and pawn them off when “fully deprecated”

These same kind of people have no problem targeting brown people for harassment by ICE.

Just like they prevent women from getting abortions but refuse to pay for school lunches or Medicaid for birth and child health or SNAP to feed the resulting children - because it’s the forced pregnancy that’s the goal - not the child.

Like homelessness is now a crime and the homeless can be disappeared. Trafficked?

People are being trafficked by the Trump Administration and the “godly” Supreme Court is cheering it on.

Jesus doesn’t know those justices.

Things are getting dire and moving quickly. I don’t want to live in a country where there are 2nd class citizens who have to worry about being abducted. As we know from history, fascism will come after everyone. None of us are safe. I feel much dread tonight. We need to do something.

Democrats need to shut the damn government down. Trump's criminal regime is out of control.

Stock up on essentials Prepare yourself for hardships to come. The sacrifices that may be required now in a Hail Mary move to stop the rapidly accelerating spread of tyranny will pale in comparison to the suffering of living under authoritarian rule.

The public needs to enhance the shutdown with intensified protests, boycotts and general strikes. If your union leaders don't support labour walkouts, they need to be challenged for being complicit in crimes against democracy.

Presently, America is engaged in a racially fuelled soft civil war. There is little hope that justice will prevail and resolve the blatant attacks on liberty, as the Supreme Court has demonstrated its subservience to the radical right.

Stopping the flow of funds to the government, the banks and the billionaires may be one of the last peaceful options in your arsenal.

Well said. But will Jeffries and Schumer be willing to engage in this fight? Can't the rest of the Democratic caucus overthrow them for strong leadership that is willing to fight?

I think Republicans need 7 (?) Dems to succeed. Maybe the new phone call blitz should be focused on persuading Dems to not surrender their only power.

The “Short Circuit of The United States” strikes again. It seems that any time the administration dislikes a lower circuit decision these days, they just send it up to the Short Circuit now to temporarily lobotomize the decision while they have a think.

So, now we have stop & frisk as a national policy in the interim pending final court decision, ugly

BTW - On the list of anti-democratic SCOTUS decisions, did you intend to include Trump v. US unconstitutional immunity decision which seemed to reference certain ideas included in marketing materials targeted to the constitutional congress that Roberts picked up off the cutting room floor, but which failed to make it into the actual Constitution?

Most of us have heard the stories about drivers being stopped and harassed by police for "driving while black". Now we're being told by SCOTUS that it is "common sense" that ICE should be able to wontonly apprehend those who are "existing while Brown". By what definition should this ever be considered common sense.

Since we are moving closer and closer to requiring Aryan purity, I guess that common sense dictates that all of you out there with brown eyes should start preparing to be next.
