Fertility Clinic Bombed By “Efilism” Death Cult Follower
“Pro-mortalism,” Gary Mosher, and the nihilism of antinatalism
Yesterday, in Palms Springs, CA, a man blew himself up with a bomb outside a fertility clinic, killing one other person and injuring 22. He videotaped the incident and set it to upload to his website. The livestream didn’t connect but he did leave a 30-minute audio manifesto about his ideology, and made his motivations clear.
The killer, Edward Guy Bartkus, was a self proclaimed “pro-mortalist,” a follower of an extremist version of “antinatalism” which is itself not a new idea but has achieved a minor following online in recent years.
Antinatalism or anti-natalism is a philosophical view that deems procreation to be unethical or unjustifiable. Antinatalists thus argue that humans should abstain from making children. Some antinatalists consider coming into existence to always be a serious harm. Their views are not necessarily limited only to humans but may encompass all sentient creatures, arguing that coming into existence is a serious harm for sentient beings in general.
Antinatalism is, in a nutshell, the idea that it sucks to live, and no one asked to be born, so we should stop making more babies that are just going to suffer anyway. Effectively the argument is that life is not a gift but a curse.
Most antinatalists argue that their philosophy is not nihilism, or in its nature violent, and that the ultimate goal of ending humanity is actually very rational. Now, to be clear, most of them do make these insane arguments in a pseudo-intellectual manner and don’t argue for mass violence. Unsurprisingly, however, the arguments antinatalists make have birthed offshoots which are far more radical and dangerous.
One of those offshoots is called “Efilism”—based on “life” spelled backwards. The leader, Gary Mosher aka “Inmendham,” started a Youtube channel in summer 2020, a very volatile political moment, to promote his brand of misanthropic antinatalism, which is far darker and more violent. One of his devotees, Amanda Sukenick is a failed performance artist who latched on to his ideas and promotes them in bizarre ways.

In a deeply-evidenced 26-page document “jointly produced by a group of Antinatalists and people associated with or formerly associated with the Antinatalist community” the authors expressed deep fear that Mosher’s ideas would lead to violence and exposed his misogyny, bigotry and homicidal desires:
We are, however, genuinely frightened that the violent rhetoric coming from the Efilist community will lead to someone getting hurt, and we feel that since the explicitly stated goal of Efilists is, to quote Sukenick, “Efilize Antinatalism from within”, you should be aware of exactly what agenda these individuals have and what their true relationship to Antinatalism is. Sukenick claims that she has “to talk people down from just going out and killing random people or hunting animals in some disgusting violent manner.” This is what Efilism, the apparently ‘superior’ upgrade that Antinatalism requires, a project set to end suffering throughout the entire universe, has delivered so far. Efilist founder Gary Mosher is a holocaust denier who believes in ‘benign rape’ and claims the laws that prevent someone from beating a pregnant woman and pushing her down the stairs are unjust.
We are appalled to report that there are a growing number of individuals associating with Antinatalism and/or claiming to be Antinatalists who now call themselves EfIlists. Many of these individuals not only morally justify violence, but boast about their desire or intentions to inflict it in the name of the supposed Efilist ‘cause’. Numerous Efilists have been banned from Discord, Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, message boards and other social media platforms for announcing their desire or intention to murder individuals in the name of the Efilism because of the justification found in Efilist ‘arguments’.
Mosher has repeatedly expressed disdain for Antinatalism, claiming it is ineffective in bringing the final end to all suffering that his Efilist philosophy could one day achieve. Sukenick agrees and genuinely believes Efilism has the power to ‘end suffering’ entirely. Efilism is the ‘movement’ they are leading which they fantasize will spread across the world, take power then institute violence to bring about extinction. Their goal is to bring as much attention as possible to this idea and gain recruits through Antinatalism.
Our past experiences with Efilists lead us to believe that not only is there a genuine risk of violence from some among them, but also that those at the helm are actively obfuscating the violent aspects of their ideology. [emphasis added]
Obviously, their concern was well-founded. From the website of Edward Guy Bartkus, who just blew up the fertility clinic in Palm Springs:
The end goal is for the truth (Efilism) to win, and once it does, we can finally begin the process of sterilizing this planet of the disease of life.
Bartkus’s audio manifesto was effectively a synopsis of the ideology created by Gary Mosher, who openly and intentionally manufactured a killer—and will manufacture more if he isn’t stopped.
Further complicating this event is the fact that the Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and consequently the entire Trump regime are openly “pro-natalist.” It’s hard to imagine that they will not use this crime as propaganda to make their equally evil ideas seem sane.
Both pro- and antinatalism are ideas born out of fear, bigotry and insecurity. They are the province of mostly white men who think they are smarter than everyone else and think they should be able to dictate whether people are born and under what conditions. They are both deviant, accelerationist cults trying to remake the world in their own images, whether it be a nihilistic antinatalist, or a fascist pro-natalist, the result is the same—death and suffering, the very conditions both ideologies claim to want to avoid.
This false dichotomy, either you are for forcing people to have children by taking away their rights, or for forcing them not to procreate through coercion and violence, is a mirror of many other such dualities designed to make the evil being done to all of us seem not so bad after all. You’re either for “totally open borders”—or for disappearing people to CECOT. You’re either a “communist”—or a fascist authoritarian. And so on.
All of it is fraud designed to pit people against each other to benefit a very few. You can call it “Efilism,” the “Dark Enlightenment,” or MAGA but in the end it’s the same thing: a death cult.

Yet another death cult of extremism thrust upon all of us from a fanatical few. It seems paradoxical to make people suffer because they will suffer anyway. Sure life is hard, but what pathology possesses such beings to punish birth, totally opposing the other disturbing view of pronatalism, both terrorizing the majority of us in between with hopefully common sense?
I know these are rhetorical questions asked for centuries.
Life seems so angrily and violently polar these days. Is humanity having a/nother major identity crisis, or is it just more noticeable? Perhaps both. If only people could leave others to just be. One can only imagine. ~Thanks for educating us, as I had no idea this ideology existed.
More false dichotomies which, at root, say "If you don't agree with me, you are willing to kill me." Why would any sane person agree to put someone like that in power? I know you want to kill everyone, but you don't mean ME!
