The Space Force will presumably be located in or near Huntsville, AL, which has a long history of aerospace industrial activity. and sits between 1000' and 1500' above sea level. It isn't a swamp, but does have the Tennessee River valley nearby. You may be confusing Alabama with Mississippi. Houston is swampier!

People need to realize that American Civil War 2.0 is already in play. The south never really surrendered, they just patiently plotted and schemed for decades for the pending rematch.
