Going On Offense — We Need Revolutionary Ideas and Fearless Leaders
Incrementalism will no longer work
After two-and-a-half years of doing everything in my power to expose the roots of the fascist insurgency threatening to engulf America and the world — and being rewarded for my efforts by being terrorized, silenced and discarded, I believe I have had enough with our current system.
I am a natural-born anarchist. Authority of all kinds is anathema to me. But I am also a pragmatist and I realize that we’ve built our society and government over hundreds of years and that deserves respect. For five decades, I’ve tried to work within the system despite it rubbing me the wrong way. And, to be honest, I wanted a family and a career, and all the good stuff that goes with it.
But like many Americans, when Donald Trump and his allies plainly stole the 2016 election with the help of the Russians, my long disenchantment began. One of the best presidents in our history, Barack Obama, allowed our system to be warped and corrupted and broken.
We were all beaten and traumatized by our own government for four years. But while it was brutal, we held on. Then, in the lead up to the 2020 election, it became crystal clear the same people were going to try to steal another one. On August 2nd, 2020, I saw the end of the world, right on Twitter — a massive, fascist death cult that was preparing for violence to seize power. It was called “QAnon.”
Every day since, I have gotten up in the morning and tried to figure out the best way to get the truth of our situation out to the public. I have done the work, played by the rules, and been banned and lied about nonetheless.
Now, the great hope of those of us who know the truth, the January 6th Committee, which collected an enormous amount of information and grandstanded for months, intentionally slanted their findings to blame Liz Cheney’s political opponent Donald Trump, instead of telling the full story. This has given the true planners of 1/6, and the financiers and foreign nation-states that supported them, a green light to do it all over again.
To be clear, I am not a nihilist. I will vote straight Democratic until there is a better alternative. I will support the administration when it does things I agree with. But I am fed up with the feckless, fearful Department of Justice, a Defense Department that allows traitors like Charles Flynn to get promoted, and a structurally racist law enforcement system that suppresses minorities. I am fed up with our cowardly response to women’s rights being taken away. And I am fed up with our collective blindness about the depth of Russian influence.
The fundamental problem with our current system, as I’ve written before, is capitalism, which places “the market” in a position previously reserved for deities while in reality it mostly breeds psychopathy and classism. Capitalism is portrayed as the answer to everything by people who have already benefitted from it, while greed and ruthlessness are celebrated and rewarded by popular culture.
Billionaires are now openly at war against the rest of us, as typified by the psychopath who bought Twitter and lost $200 billion without breaking a sweat in order to create a launch pad for propaganda and psyops.
Let me put this simply. Any system that allows Elon Musk to exist is broken. He has appropriated the ideas and labor of millions to put himself in a position to further suppress the population for his own benefit — and to satisfy his racist, eliminationist vision of a white paradise on Mars. He is a danger to civilization — full stop.
Billionaires are drug addicts and their narcotic is money. A system that rewards people for cruelty to others, that holds up profits as the only relevant measure, is fundamentally sick. “Free markets,” like free speech, are not “free” when everyone else is paying for it.
What should we replace “free market capitalism” with? The answer is, I’m not sure, although I have plenty of thoughts.
What I do know is that I want my grandkids to grow up in a world where they can be safe, healthy and happy — which means, quite frankly, we need to abolish billionaires from the Earth. They are simply oligarchs by any other name and they are killing the earth and the people who live here in the process. They are an aberrant form of humans which has metastasized and prospered at the cost of our collective health and sanity.
So I’m looking for new leaders — people who have not been corrupted and bought. I need to hear new ideas for how to break the stranglehold that the capitalist system has on the rest of us, and for realistic, non-violent ways to make real change. Who is going to step up and lead us? Where are the new leaders with real ideas?
2024 seems to be the year destined to determine the future of democracy, and whether empathy remains part of human nature. I think Joe Biden has done a fantastic job of doing his best while adhering to norms and unwritten rules. But we don’t need any more norms, we don’t need any more “bipartisanship.” Those days are over. We are at war with an enemy who will use every concession to normalcy against us.
There is no more normal. We need a revolution of sanity and empathy. And we need to cancel Elon Musk and the system which created him.

Jim, I'm officially writing a memoir and storing it on my old blog that nobody reads. I fleshed out The Scream some more. https://algonquinonthebayou.blogspot.com/
Currently obsessively pencil-whipping this: https://algonquinonthebayou.blogspot.com/2022/01/my-life-among-new-orleans-royals.html
Notes? Questions? For someone like you, I add the seduction of the JFK unresolved issues. LB knows what she's talking about re that thing. Mob + IC. My guess is IC supplied Irv as Shaw's defense attorney.
I love you Jim. Ask Mrs. Stewartson if I can be a sister wife.
