Musk sounds like a bad episode of Dr. Who with the Cybermen

Thanks for this piece.

Musk is just reenacting the character Oscar Isaac played in Ex Machina, saying that the future is androids with AI brains like the one he's built in that film, and that they'll look back at us the way we look at fossils of prehumans. I'll bet he's watched that movie and identifies with that character.

He should remember how that turned out in the film. But sociopathic malignant narcissists can't really believe in their own mortality, at the same time they're scared witless of it.

Sometimes I read one of these articles and think, maybe it's me, perhaps I'm the one that just doesn't get it... and then that voice in my head SCREAMS: Oh, honey. It’s not you. It’s never been you. It’s the rising stench of narcissistic techno-authoritarianism wafting off a gilded pile of billionaire daddy issues and ketamine withdrawal. You’re not broken for reacting like a human being to a sociopath’s fever dream; you're one of the emotionally intact people standing in a digital thunderdome of soulless ambition and sweaty-palmed apocalypse grifters.

Let’s get one thing violently clear: “Biological bootloader” is not just a bad metaphor. It’s a genocidal wet dream with a VC pitch deck. When Elon Musk says we’re bootloaders for digital superintelligence, he’s not being clever. He’s laying the groundwork to erase your rights, your body, your goddamn relevance as a living, breathing human. He’s running the old fascist playbook in a shiny new font, and instead of goose-stepping, he's glitching through interviews like a middle schooler who read too much Asimov and never learned empathy.

This isn't about the future. It’s about eugenics dressed up in a Patagonia vest. These men are cult leaders with Wi-Fi. They’re swapping poisoned Kool-Aid for poisoned code.

And Elon isn’t alone. This funhouse of male fragility includes RFK Jr., a man who thinks mercury causes autism, vaccines are Satan’s kiss, and public health is optional if you meditate hard enough. Together, these guys are building a death cult powered by AI, privatized organs, and libertarian wet dreams of a body-free utopia where the poor die quietly and the rich upload their egos into orbital sex drones.

You are not confused. You are awake.

What you’re feeling is the visceral, nauseating revulsion of watching a small cadre of sociopathic billionaires try to strip-mine humanity’s meaning in real-time, and then gaslight you for noticing.

Musk wants to put chips in your head while gutting labor laws, collapsing social safety nets, and cozying up to fascists like it’s a Sunday BBQ. Kennedy wants to send healthcare policy back to the 19th century and then call it liberty. And both of them, in their ketamine-laced, crypto-flushed dreams, believe they are the harbingers of a new species.

They're not. They're just garden-variety death cultists with fancier toys.

So no, friend, it’s not you. You’re seeing clearly through the smog. And while they build empires of extinction, we get to be the inconvenient, furious, fully-human resistance. We boot the loaders out.

Elon can call me a “biological bootloader” if he wants. I call him an emotionally-stunted meat puppet cosplaying God while humanity burns for his dopamine hit.

Sometimes, my inner voice is smarter than I am.

Maybe someday we'll figure out how to have a civilization where there's enough organization to ensure that people's needs are met, but no individual is able to gain that kind of power, for good or ill. It draws these parasites the way blood in the water draws sharks.

I wish the nutjobs would focus on the real issue & fight climate change, instead of this BS of knocking off the 'undesirables' & going to Mars. Do people believe this? That we're going to conquer Mars? If they didn't have power & money, these people, Musk & Kennedy, would be in forensic psych units.

I used to be the clinical supervisor of a forensic psych hospital, and you're absolutely right. I've had that thought for years about Trump and the people he attracts and is attracted to. They'd have fit right in. And they'd have lived in protective custody, locked down, so that the other inmates (it was in the state prison system) couldn't kick the crap out of them as they would if they got the chance.
