Now Trụmp plans to use legal public dissent as a pretext for proclaiming martial law and possibly postponing (indefinitely) the 2026 (and 2028?) national elections. Not surprised, just disgusted. And I too expected that our military would refuse to aid in the desecration of our constitution in service to this fascist regime. I have yet to decide if it is because they support it, because of cowardice, or because they are still preparing for the time when they will take a stand and honor their oath.

If the authorities start doing the things they say they are going to do, there may be a civil war or "rogue" (not Hegseth's people) military intervention. Neither is desirable and also threatens national security and may result in civil war( if not already in one.) Hoping people can keep protests peaceful despite any provocations.
Administration (Trump's stupidity) keeps overplaying his cards. I say let him keep doing it so more people who don't quite see him for what and who he is will start to understand. We should let it play out because, as Elon said, Trump's time is limited. Let the clock run. More advantage to our "side" right now. Don't give them the opportunity to play us to their advantage. We don't have to be in a hurry to help create a situation where we are standing in front of tanks. We need to garner more support and make ourselves stronger.

So, according to DeSantis' logic (or lack thereof), if the National Guard and DHI troops are impeding my progress down the street, I can just run into them with my car as well? What I can't believe is that these scumbags have so many complicit followers. Those ICE "officers" and DHI and random guys with masks and batons and guns and tear gas are ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS. How is it possible that so many of our fellow citizens are willing and able to injure, "detain," and arrest their fellow citizens on the streets of their own cities? I think that's the thing I didn't see coming... but you've been warning us all along, Jim. I just can't believe it's actually happening and no one in our military command is stopping this. They took an oath to defend the Constitution and their fellow citizens from all threats foreign and domestic. How can they justify this blatant fascist abuse of military violence on our own streets? I protest nearly every day with my homemade signs, in traffic! It really makes sitting at a red light more interesting if you stick some words out the window that can't be easily censored. I have not had any accidents or arrests yet, although one sign at my house caused a passing reader to hit my truck. Guess I am a paid protestor now, check for damages was depositdd today!
