This is especially true in swing states where there are many independent voters. I like “Reform Ice” or better yet, “Replace Ice.”
I agree with nearly all your ambitious goals for our society, but how do we convince democratic voters they've been had and their heroes Kamala, Schumer, and Jeffries, Obama, and Biden let it happen? Just as MAGA was brainwashed into believing all if Trump and Q-anon's lies for the sake of their white privelege, democrats like my dear mother still believe that our leaders are basically good people and just need to sit down and talk things out. Democratic voters are so averse to conflict, and in such fear of backlash and lawfare, many still hope that the aversion to Trump will lead to sweeping election victories, if we can just wait a little longer! So the Democratic officials we elected to save us are content start their next election campaign as the solution! I will not pick up a gun at this point, but I can sure pick up a protest sign, cancel subscriptions to legacy corporate media and other products, spend local, and drive everywhere 10 mph slower than the rest of traffic so they can see my protest stickers and signs as they pass me by. And as I cancel them, they help by cancelling me too! Right on, Jim, I couldn't agree more. Mark Carney delivered an awesome speech at Davos today. He's the de facto leader of the free world right now. There is one thing I'd like to add to our reforms, and I feel very strongly about this: When a politician swears an oath committing themselves to public service, it should include an oath swearing to tell the truth. Deliberately misleading, reckless disregard for the truth, or knowingly stating a falsehood should be instantly disqualifying. That should be the law. Without truthfulness and fact-based policy discussions, we are doomed. If you can't bring it, don't bother showing up.
