Great article! Adam Kinzinger put out a YouTube video about the Fox comments too.
Your series of articles are very helpful.
It’s sad to see where this is going. The sheer stupidity of all of it.
I have no doubt that Trump and crew will be ended in “flames” if they don’t compromise.
I don’t believe they realize what’s out here especially as their strategy is specifically designed to increase the numbers lower income people who want to overthrow and or just eliminate them. Plus. - 400 million and growing guns.
Jim, with respect, calm the heck down! Yes, I agree with your analysis of the danger but so what? You're simply repeating the "Danger, Danger" meme that is everywhere right now - left and right - and it is not helping!
We need to stop fear mongering ourselves and start thinking about and talking about causes and solutions. I am not minimizing the danger. And I think it is going to get a lot worse precisely because no one is talking about causes and solutions but we need your brain, we need all our brains, focused on problem solving. Now!
I have studied and practiced violence, starting in the mid 70s with air to air and air to ground combat with a variety of weapons including nuclear bombs. I trained in unarmed and armed martial arts for almost 30 years. In graduate school for a mental health degree I studied the causes of violence, mostly to understand myself. After 9/11, I was an antiwar organizer and protestor.
Violence has been the heartbeat of America, since before it was born. Genocide, slavery, imperialist war, the Gilded Age and labor wars, international wars, empire building around the world, more wars, de-regulated sociopathic capitalism, the biggest military, the biggest arms industry, the biggest arsenal of weapons in private hands and our hugely grotesque entertainment violence industry that gas lights us with claims of innocence. And more.
The root cause of widespread behavioral violence is the social violence caused by wealth inequality because wealth is power. Wealth bequeaths the power to deny employment, to deny healthcare, to deny education, to deny equal rights, to deny equal representation, to deny justice, to deny freedom and to deny life itself!
Democracy was invented to share political power equally. To reign in wealth inequality. To make us equal. We never had much of a democracy but the rich, corrupted by the power of their wealth, just can't stand what we had managed to eke out because united, We, the People, are a threat to their power. The rich want all the power and their strategy is divide and conquer us for all time. Counter-violence is not the answer because power will corrupt us too.
We must unify. We must join together to fight for Universal Human Rights. And our strategy and tactics must flow from love not hate. You're a game guy, right? Create games that are fun and reward unity. Instead of Halo how about Medic? You're a "creative" right? Stop doom-saying and get creative. Please!
Horrifying. I have always feared the right would murder the homeless. It would not surprise me if Trump ordered his goons to just go into the encampments and slaughter folks in their tents. Lawrence Jones claims we have spent billions on the mentally ill and homeless, and they just aren't appreciative. Truth is, we abandoned the mentally ill decades ago. Reagan put the nail in the coffin by deinstitutionalizing and shutting down government run facilities. Surprise, surprise, the mentally ill aren't a rich group, so the capitalists can't make any money off them, which means they are non-persons in America. Economically, it is hard for most folks to pay sky-high housing rates, not just the mentally ill. So of course we have a massive homeless problem. I myself have been too fucking close for comfort on several occasions. (I am 67 and the job market hasn't wanted me in years.) The homeless problem has been ignored by lawmakers for decades. There has been very little help. I hate liars, but they manage to proliferate and truth tellers struggle. I bet Lawrence makes much more money than I ever did working in TV news.
The American neo-Nazis do not like it when I point out how the first holocaust victims, the ones who warmed up the gas chambers and cremation furnaces, were pure blood German citizens. It really bothers them to hear how people like them, overweight, unfit, slow witted, were deemed unfit to serve the Reich, and disappeared. The lucky ones were only sterilized and allowed to work. The mental institutions were completely emptied.
One more sobering detail about that first euthanizing. Many of the German victims were simply elderly. Unable to take care of themselves, or just too much of a burden on working family. Maybe those senior maga trump supporters need to see the truth?
You're absolutely right about grief. I've been going through the different stages, off and on. This is taking a physical and emotional toll on us. I've been mindful of it here at home and witnessing it in the people I love. I can't help but wonder how some of the 'decent' people I know, but no longer talk to, are receiving this genocidal rhetoric on Fox.
I thank you for being so in-depth in your article today,Jim. While frightening, I've had my suspicion for a while now, that what this Regime is doing right this minute, is setting the stage for just such actions as you've described in your article today. Shocking work here, Thank you, again, and will reStack ASAP 🙏
I knew I was feeling grief by the end of January. The anger stage isn’t quite as bad as it was, but I still have to remind myself that joy is a form of resistance before I leave the house. Otherwise, I am libel to snap some innocent’s head off. Others feel the same way, I’m sure, and people are just not nice anymore, especially customer service. (I and four of my friends were asked to leave a restaurant because we asked how much longer we had to wait for a hostess to take our name. The manager said we were rude. We weren’t. I’m 74, and the youngest. One was on a walker and another on a cane, and we were sitting down when he told us to leave. Eight women in front of us were also refused service. Strange times.) I told that story because I although I laugh about its absurdity, it has caused me grief. Something has been lost of kindness and a feeling of belonging and mattering. We don’t matter. I’m looking forward to your series. I realize I am not the only one grieving.
That restaurant does not deserve you, your friends, and the other eight women. Now you know where not to go for a pleasant meal together. I trust that you and your friends will find other far more welcoming places.
The funny thing is we went to a place across the street, and not only were the eight women there, too, but the waitress said they got customers from the other place all the time!
This is shocking, Jim, and sobering. They’re just saying it out in the open. They plan on carrying this out. They’re saying it to desensitize people ahead of time, so when the time comes it won’t be as shocking and fewer will resist. We can’t let this happen. We have to resist.

Fox is complicit. I cannot believe what he said, it's as if he was told to say it?

If anyone out there was on the fence about what Trump and the GOP are planning, it’s time to get off the fence and save this country!

🎉🌈 Thanks for sharing this part of the event!
