The reason he’s unsealing the info? Trump opened his fucking mouth. 😂

The DOJ did not announce the raid. Trump did. Now Trump is fundraising of it. So, Merrick is calling his bluff.

Merrick Garland owned this moment and I admit I was wrong about him. This was badass. The best line of the entire press conference was “because of the public interest in this matter” — meaning he is explicitly taking US into consideration in terms of releasing information. That’s big.

Garland also showed the fighter I hoped he was in defending his colleagues.
