Motherhood is being attacked by fascists. Moms will save us anyway, because that’s what they do.

Happy Mother’s Day to the bravest, fiercest people I know — moms.

There is a reason that motherhood, the reason any of us exist in the first place, is a primary target of fascists. They see it as a weakness to exploit. They could not be more wrong.

The targeting of moms by the fascist death cult which has taken over the GOP and formed a fifth column in the United States was signaled from the beginning when it weaponized traumatic fiction about pedophiles abusing and murdering children.

“#SaveTheChildren” was appropriated and perverted by QAnon to mean save the children from Hillary Clinton and the Democrats, save the children from being harvested for their “adrenochrome,” and save the children from becoming one of “800,000” missing kids — which is a statistical lie that overstates the problem by four orders of magnitude.

This lie, a barely reskinned version of the ancient Russian blood libel propaganda, Protocols of the Elder of Zion, was deployed against American moms through psychological warfare operations and captured millions through traumatic content, social media coercion and repetitive propaganda. For fifty years, fascists have exploited motherhood to attack women’s rights and overturn Roe — by inserting propaganda like “pro-life” and “partial birth abortion” into the mainstream lexicon and by inserting six extremist Christian cultists into the Supreme Court. They are about to succeed.

Now the “town square” has been taken over by a misogynistic anarchist named Elon Musk who thinks this is how the world believes Mother’s Day should celebrated.

Despite all this, what’s clear to me is while these fragile male egos might win this battle, I know in my heart they are going to lose this war.

The reason I know this is because of the moms that have led me out of despair and hopelessness countless times even as I learn more and more about the depth of evil we all face together. In the end, moms are not going to be controlled, or suppressed, or told what to do with their bodies.

The best strategy to surviving this war is to support your local moms. Mark my words, they will lead us out of this. The rest of us just need to figure it out and get in line.
