Minor inquiry on a detail here - after a brief search, I wasn’t able to find any specific historical link between “by God we’ll have our home again”
and the colonial period Weare Riot / pine tree riot. The only connection I observed was that a band called Pine Tree Riot has been known to play it. Did you come across a historical connection? The lyrics and the actual situation of the riot seem anachronistic, but it would be interesting to know the connection if there is one. Here is a link to what I came across.
No doubt the white Christian nationalists do like to misappropriate the pine tree/ Appeal to Heaven ensign, but mostly they don’t understand it. The point of that flag was that 1) it flew from the mast of a ship made from a northern pine, which the British Navy coveted, as one of the early rationales for colonization was the supply of masts which were growing scarce and expensive in Europe, 2) the colonists had appealed their grievances / the offenses against the colonists (i.e. the list in the Declaration of Independence) to the parliament and to the king and has been unsuccessful. The only remaining recourse was war. War being always a gamble they considered the outcome to be in God’s hands i.e. a final appeal to Heaven/ “Heaven help us”.
Scary post Jim. And I just saw another person was shot by ICE in Minneapolis today, though thankfully not killed. That this is happening at the same time the Regime is doubling down on their Greenland gambit is very troubling to me. 2026 - the year it all goes boom. Happy 250th anniversary my ass.
Trump has been exposed in snuff movies, thats where a young homless girl was shot dureing filming sex with an 11 year old boy. and he had to clean the blood up afterwards, as part of their film. That boy, now a soldier in the US army. was identified by another soldier looking at the movie he was foced to participate in, and asking if that was him , It was, and he is talking
