I have spent a good bit of time exposing the weaponized, misogynistic nightmare Twitter Trends became for more than a month. It was blatantly being manipulated by Elon Musk.
Then last week, Mike Flynn came back to Twitter, blatantly doing ban evasion and thanked Elon Musk for his help.
Half an hour after I wrote the story, the account was suspended.
Since then, like a light switch, Twitter Trends has returned to “normal.” The occasional Amber Heard hashtag shows up still, but whatever switch got switched — got switched back the same day Flynn was suspended.
It seems to me that Elon Musk’s deal is probably not going to happen. Whoever was put in charge of “making Elon happy” isn’t doing it anymore. I suspect this is because they think his position is weak because of his sexual harassment allegations and the psychotic way he’s acted for many months. Also TSLA is fucked. 🥲
We’ll see.
