So he figures that SNAP is just for "those in need" and he decides who those are? If his rich corporate donors would pay them a living wage the problem would be solved. If government took care of the disabled, the problem would be solved. Yet these aren't issues that ever get discussed because those lower taxes for the rich would be in jeopardy. Then donnie little dick loses all those donors. Morality in the GOP's mind is for "losers."

Excellent article, Jim.

Because it is personal, I can’t get over the fact that the cost of his obscene Gatsby party could have funded almost a year of clinical trials & research by the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium which he halted. Pediatric Brain Cancer is the number 1 cancer killer of children. So many families had their hopes dashed because of the cruelty of this administration.

Taking food away from the needy in the form of SNAP benefits, may very well be his “let them eat cake” moment(figuratively, not a fan of violence). Judging by the overwhelming wins of the Dems last night, I can only hope the pendulum has begun its swing back towards morality(though I think our society,as a whole,

suffers more from an overabundance of disinformation, than a lack of morality).

You mean overabundance and disinformation....overabundance creates apathy, and apathy is as much a problem as the MAGA delusion. Some folks need to be dragged out of their comfort zones before they will participate in the democratic process. :)

🚨WOW - Jim - another one of those “coincidences”!!!

You stated your opinion on “religion” - in the essay. I have written that I had a NDE and saw Heaven.

In the summer of 2020 I called my Congressional Representative, Haley Stevens. Somehow I had met her. I had been having too many precognitive things happen when I had this “message” come through “Rome is burning while Caesar plays the fiddle”. Who got the blame after the fire? You just answered that in your essay.

I’m a Christian and I called because I didn’t want the Christians to Take The Blame when Trump did what he may well do.

I also told Representative Stevens assistant to have her pass the message to then Candidate Joe Biden.

I would assume it’s on tape. I felt stupid doing the call, but when the Holy Spirit says call that directly - I call.

Coincidences Coincidences

The Republicans better watch their backs, because In God We Trust is on the currency and guess who is Watching.

Thank you so much! You've given me hope. And so did the election results. I won't have to go medical traveling for vaccines bc Sherrill won so we'll stay in the Northeast Health Alliance.

The misled have empowered the wicked. That's where we are, but like you, I have faith that this moment in time is fleeting. It's an expose of the worst of human nature, and the pushback is gaining momentum and is going to be transformative. How's that for optimism in dark times? America can do better, and it knows it.

May our own praetorian guards, the Pentagonians, drive Trump to suicide -- soon. I mean, how much longer can the military allow this shit show to go on? When it's all over, there must be Nuremberg Trials for every member of this administration. They should, of course, be offered cyanide pills in lieu of hanging, just like their Heavenly Fuehrer had.

Thank you for this insightful trip through ancient history. I personally believe Trump’s cruelty and narcissism might be enough to flip the cultural dynamic once enough of his supporters feel the pain of his Big Beautiful Bill … but only if they also know an alternative reality / future is possible. I am working to get the word out about this option (based on the work of social science pioneers such as Buckminster Fuller and Riane Eisler) through the Route 66 Spirit of America Museum in Stroud, Oklahoma. Here’s a link to what I’m working on…
