If he has grandmother were alive, I imagine she would say that she wished he had never been born.

This is a stunning exegesis of the fascist world view being injected into the veins of our democracy. You have exposed the tentacles of this monstrosity thoroughly and succinctly. This should be required reading for every Democratic AG, Governor and Congressperson, as well as for British and German leaders who are falling for Palantir's seductive charms. You have done a great service by presenting this synthesis. It deserves a much wider audience.

If you don't know this information, then you don't realize the severity of the battle ahead. If you are soothed by talk of Blue Waves and subsequent prosecutions, impeachments and imprisonment for these puppet-master traitors, you are not allowing yourself to digest the true state of affairs.

America, and much of the free world is grasping the slippery porcelain edge of the toilet bowl, and the churning whirlpool below is sucking at your feet. Trump is repeatedly slamming the toilet seat down upon your shattered fingers to break your precarious grip.

While the goon squads at home are fed your personal data to ensure your continued terror and confusion, the captured authority of the US military is murdering any resistance abroad to the sacrosanct American dollar.

The public may protest the myriad of offences and coverups underway as individual indignities and assaults on democracy, but until there is a prolonged period of rebellion, with a collective, unswayable demand for complete and total regime change, the Constitution may as well be just another discarded protest sign.

No Kings Day 3 approaches. That event needs to be the turning point in the resistance.

The downtrodden masses have the power to evoke historic change.

That wearily flickering flame of resentment in your hearts must become a fearsome, uncontrollable blaze of indignation.

A better world is achievable. It is there for the taking.

Dream it. Demand it.

I fully agree that these micro-dicked, fascist fantasizing, K-fueled freak neo-nazis with massive daddy issues are an imminently dangerous threat. I also appreciate that you called attention to the fact that it's not just Republican politicians who are in his back pocket, but far too many Democrats as well.

What both infuriates and astonishes me most though, is the acknowledgement that these deranged billionaire chuds couldn't have succeeded at amassing all their unearned power and wealth, if not for tens of millions of gleefully complicit, painfully ignorant and gullible rubes who helped support and propel them to power.

Until and unless at least some of those fools wake the fuck up, pull their hateful and empty heads outta their own asses, and finally acknowledge the objective and horrifying reality that THEY helped usher in, we're screwed. Sadly, my faith in that happening is almost non-existent.

Anyways, as always, appreciate your attempts to inform and educate people as to the threats these lunatics pose. Also appreciate those in this community whose intelligence and compassion to right these wrongs gives me a tiny shred of hope that we might somehow pull through...

So Palantir has used the same business model of Microsoft and Oracle, SAAS that they force clients to, as you mentioned, "rework its entire business to be stuck with the software forever." The somewhat good news is that it's standard BI software with AI chatbots. Thiel is incredibly dangerous, but it's possible that hackers could potentially take down his company. Makes me wish I had stuck with computer science studies. Hopefully someone out there can fuck with it and at least throw some sand in the machine.

Yeah, the one truth that we can almost always count on is that the narcissistic arrogance and immense hubris of these sociopaths, just like Hitler and so many others, tend to be their most exploitable weaknesses. Their inability to believe that anybody could possibly be more intelligent and cunning than they are, is exactly what provides the means to take them down.

We just need the right motivated and intelligent people with the necessary skills to step up and do us all a solid. The irony is that it's extremely likely to be someone out of Iran, Gaza, Venezuela, or the like who's been personally victimized and harmed by the weapons these freaks have built and deployed.

Here's hoping that whoever it is, they get the opportunity sooner than later...

Profoundly important article, Jim. One correction: you meant to say the Third Reich, not Weimar, which was the failed attempt to create a democratic republic in Germany after WW1 lasting until the rise of Hiter in 1933. Ironically, the Weimar Republic might have made it had it not been for the Great Depression, an American-caused financial disaster that went global, just as the financial crisis of 2008 did. And here we are, again.

I’m a student of this era. It was Weimar Germany that Thiel was talking about. It was Weimar until Hitler canceled the Constitution. Thiel wants to create the conditions for the Third Reich by replicating Weimar.

The conditions for the Third Reich did not come about as a result of the Weimar constitution. They came about as a result of hyper inflation and outrgeous allied demands for restitution compounded by a world-wide depression. Hitler rose to power by cancelling left political parties and literally creating the Third Reich and himself as dictator. So I think you're saying that Thiel wants to replicate the fall of the Weimar Republic, not its intended nature. I would prefer you say Thiel wishes to recreate Nazi Germany, not the Weimar Republic. (See Arnold Brecht's autobiography for a great read, not that any of us have time to read now that it's all about to blow up).

The Nazis had a great deal to do with the creation of the conditions that led to the fall of Weimar. It was a project started well before the Putsch to bring down the new democratic government that helped weaken it over time. There were political, kinetic, and economic components. The NSDAP may not have created hyperinflation but they made it worse, and they took advantage of it by blaming Jews for it and for WWI well before Hitler took power. They staged street clashes with the KPD with the intention of making everything seem violent and out of control. It was a long process and the Nazis were the constant fuel for it—and the beneficiaries.

edit: I think I see the disconnect. I was a bit inartful with how the sentences led from one to the other. I was sayiing two things, and they mushed together.

Yes. Hitler was jailed for treason in 1924, serving 9 months of a five-year sentence. His fascist, anti-democratic movement was well under way long before 1933. After the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 it shifted to more 'lawful' means to overturn the Republic, just as Thiel and Musk are doing now with DOGE and ICE and war in Iran and apeasement and support of Putin and other dictators. In our case, if we had jailed Trump in 2021, it might have radically changed history. A tragic, lost opportunity.

Thanks for the history and the connections. I am very afraid. This latest ultimatum is going to get more people killed: Iran cannot back down in the Strait. It's just not going to happen: they will continue to challenge him rather than lose face. Either way, we are fucked. And those 'boots on the ground' are going to be sitting ducks.

And this is why we ain't got time for 90% of the stuff happening now.
