ROCOR
The Russian Orthodox Church has been weaponized by Vladimir Putin. Its tentacles stretch deep into the neo-nazi movement
The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) is a direct asset of Vladimir Putin and freely mimics Putin’s propaganda and bigoted policies. It is not surprising that he is using his position to generate genocidal hate for Putin’s war.
Today he’s blaming Gay Pride 🏳️🌈 Parades as part of the reason Putin is unilaterally murdering thousands of Ukrainian civilians.
ROCOR is Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia which is supposed to be a “semi-autonomous part” of the ROC but does not behave that way.
The only Seminary of ROCOR is in Mohawk, NY. If you know anyone from this area, they will tell you it has a very high percentage of neo-nazis and other extremists, which reflects ROCOR’s membership.
As just one example of a ROCOR member, Lauren Witzke is a neo-nazi connected to Nick Fuentes and Milo Yiannopolous.
As with all belief systems, there are certainly devout members of ROCOR who are not neo-nazis. I have nothing against them. However, when your church appears to be supporting, if not creating, neo-nazis, you are at best complicit by staying silent.
In general, traditionalism, regardless of faith is a magnet for bigotry and hate. If your belief system is based on rigid, unchanging principles without providing room for change and growth, your belief system is going to be at odds with a progressing civilization. This will cause friction. Something has to give.
Again, I have no problem with “traditionalists” or “Orthodoxy” per se. It’s when they impose their values on everyone else that there is a problem.
ROCOR should feel free to seastead a feudal, monarchist, white ethnostate and solicit volunteers for all I care, just leave the rest of us out of it.
