Second Civil War: Thoughts On Preparing the Battlefield

First, you win hearts and minds

For almost five years, I’ve been reporting on what I have consistently referred to as psychological warfare against American civilians, an attack which is persistently misunderstood as politics. Despite the fact that casualties from this attack rose up to try and overthrow the federal government on J6, Democrats, including Joe Biden, refused to grasp it.

The establishment allowed the insurrection to continue for four years through the Biden administration, which never once directly addressed the root cause of the deepening fracture in the electorate. We allowed the Russians and their American collaborators to continue to radicalize our citizens. No one above Proud Boy ever spent a day in prison for trying to murder the Vice President and Nancy Pelosi.

J6 could have been a fascist insurrection that was put down, rooted out, and left to history as a warning for all future governments by a Democratic administration. Donald Trump should be in prison for the rest of his life, along with the people who planned it. Instead, we allowed the enemy to erase the worst attack on the Capitol since the Civil War, to put Trump back in the White House, and to let the foot soldiers out of prison to threaten Americans with violence, again.

The weakness of the Democrats have now ensured that J6 was not the culmination of a dangerous reemergence of fascism, it ensured J6 was the start of the Second Civil War.

Incredibly, after losing the election, the Democrats have just gotten worse. The DNC voted for a feckless milquetoast hack, who is doing exactly as well as you might expect. The Democratic Party, which I was a member of until a few months ago, is currently self-immolating while the country is being beaten to death by an abusive, demented tyrant.

To borrow a movie quote: I see dead people.

I do not believe Trump will ever give up power voluntarily. I do not believe he and his handlers ever intend to have another presidential election. And I think the 2026 elections are at severe risk of disruption or cancellation by Trump’s lawless criminal regime.

So, unfortunately, I think we have passed the point where we can expect a peaceful transition of power. The people who seized the government will need to be removed, by force, if necessary.

The question of course, is how you do it.

The answer is a military one.

Prepare the battlefield. First, you win hearts and minds.

The Second Civil War is different than the first, which was largely demarcated by geographic lines. This war is neighbor vs. neighbor and brother vs. sister. The fault lines are psychological, not physical, and cross over every boundary and identity group in the population.

America needs a new movement with a message people can understand, a strategy that takes into account the military, geopolitical and psychological context of our scenario, and tactics which are effective in the 21st century.

If I were going to construct a brief, top line platform as a way to build messaging and strategy for a true opposition movement, it would look something like this:

• Defend the Constitution from enemies, foreign and domestic

  • Restore separation of church and state

  • Rebalance and strengthen the system of checks and balances

  • Rebuild the intelligence community and national security apparatus

  • Eject foreign interests and prosecute collaborators

  • Protect the vote from interference by foreign governments and billionaires

• Defeat racism, gender discrimination, and religious bigotry

  • A pluralistic, multicultural population is the reason for American exceptionalism

  • Pass the ERA, restore Roe, strengthen the Civil Rights Act to include LGBTQ+ people, reverse Citizens United

• Abolish oligarchs

  • Eisenhower tax on billionaires

• Provide healthcare for all

  • Restore American dominance in science and technology

• Recreate the federal government for the 21st century

  • Challenge Silicon Valley to stop undermining their government and start helping it to dominate

  • Delete all contracts with antidemocratic companies and people

    • The PayPal Mafia must be dismantled and defeated

• Regain control of our military and space program

  • We must never allow critical parts of our government to be controlled by private citizens or allow our military to be abused to wage war on Americans civilians

• Regulate cryptocurrency, social media and AI

  • Each of these crucial technologies is being weaponized by anti-government oligarchs to destabilize America

• Restore America as a global leader

  • Defeat Putin in Eastern Europe

  • End support for Netanyahu’s regime

  • Defend Taiwan from CCP aggression

  • Restore NATO as America’s force-multiplier in Europe

  • End tariffs and trade wars

  • Strengthen the dollar, remove crypto from the government

This may seem… very ambitious—and it is. But sane, decent Americans should not be afraid to demand a country and a world that looks like the 21st century, not some bizarre revanchist combination of Handmaid’s Tale and 1984. We should also not be afraid to demand that anyone who wants to be a leader stop compromising on basic American values.

In order to inspire people, you have to give them a vision, but you also have to give them ways to act on it. The No Kings protests proved that Americans are willing to stand up against a fascist threat, but that can’t be all it was. No Kings must be the start of something much bigger and more radical. We must not just protest against this regime, but to protest for something bigger.

• Mass protests should happen every week

• The protests must be peaceful but civil disobedience will be necessary

  • Make the regime do mass arrests in front of the cameras

• There should be rolling, intensifying general strikes that put pressure on the regime not to escalate against our citizens and to treat all immigrants humanely

• Pro-democracy voices must go into the enemy territory and be unafraid to defend our vision on podcasts, TV shows or social media, regardless of their political leanings.

Mike Flynn said this after cooperating with our foreign adversaries to cheat in the 2016 election to install Donald Trump the first time.

“We have an army of digital soldiers. Because this was an insurgency folks. This was run like an insurgency. This was irregular warfare at its finest.”

Flynn was referring to using military strategy and tactics to spread disinformation that would convince the population to vote for a manifestly incapable man. In short, Flynn won hearts and minds through psychological warfare.

The opposition to this must use military strategy and tactics to spread the truth about what has happened to America and to share a strong positive vision, so that we can win the hearts and minds we need to win the Second Civil War. We must have our own “digital soldiers” who are organized and willing to confront people on the ground, both online and the real world. We have to stop being afraid of conflict.

The conflict is going to happen, the only question is how violent it will be.

If the Democratic Party wants to be relevant at all in this war, it must reject the leftovers from the olden days of politics. Establishment hacks who stood by while all of this happened on their watch should be kicked out and replaced with people who are willing to stand up. The DNC must put people in leadership who are willing to fight and put forth a vision, without fear, wherever they are.

Here are some Democrats that I have been impressed with over the last few months. None of them are perfect, but all of them get it. Voices like these should be driving the bus, not crybabies like Chuck Schumer and Ken Martin.

The harsh reality is that Democrats blew it. For decades now, they have been the clean up crew for an increasingly radicalized Republican Party which is now a combination of the Confederacy and the Fourth Reich.

One way or the other, We The People need to recognize the mess both parties put us in and demand that constitutional order, decency, and democracy be restored in America. And when our demands are not met, we must be ready to act, and ultimately to die to preserve our freedom.

Long live a free America. Glory to the heroes—wherever you may be.
