“Sins of the Grandparents”: Joshua Haldeman & “The Conspiracy” Rotting Teeth In Alberta
How fluoride, RFK Jr., provincial Canadian politics and the richest man collide
On January 25th, five days after Sieg Heil-ing at Trump’s Inauguration, Elon Musk called into a rally of the neo-Nazi German AfD Party to let the German people know that they should stop putting up with so much “multiculturalism that dilutes everything” and that they “need to move beyond” “past guilt” about “sins of the parents or even grandparents” — an obvious reference to the Holocaust.
Today, Elon Musk was at a meeting of the Cabinet, despite having no official role in the government, leading the made-up agency DOGE — which is a project to systematically find every weak point in the government and anything remotely “woke” and smash it to pieces through as much propaganda and production value as possible.
Among the people speaking was RFK Jr. whose main priority was letting people know that Utah was considering removing fluoride from the water after decades of science has shown it to be safe and effective for dental health.
Here is an interview with a city council member of Calgary, Alberta on why they put fluoride back after a ten year experiment in December 2024.
Alberta, as my Canadian friends know, is the most “MAGA” of provinces, with a long history of right wing politics. Part of the reason for that is the Social Credit Party of Alberta, which won nine separate elections from 1935 to 1971.
You may wonder where I’m going with this, but Joshua Haldeman, Elon Musk’s grandfather, was one of the leaders of the Social Credit Party in the 1940s. In addition to promoting a financial theory which, despite trying, I haven’t figured out, the main export of the Social Credit Party was antisemitism.
In her 1997 doctoral thesis, Janine Stingel developed a thorough, disturbing and enlightening picture of this movement, which was born from the unshakeable belief that an international group of Jewish financiers was conspiring to bring down Canada and enslave the planet.
One of the primary sources of the Social Crediters’ beliefs was the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a blatant antisemitic hoax, itself plagiarized from other sources, that alleged to be the product of a meeting between a cabal of Jews planning on taking over the world by enslaving the “goyim.” The Protocols were first used by the Tsars in the early 20th century to scapegoat Jews for problems in the Russian Empire — before the Bolshevik Revolution gave the remnants of the Russian White Army a reason to recycle it.
Antisemitic oligarch Henry Ford forced his Model-T dealerships to publish the Protocols through the Dearborn Independent in the 1920s. Elon Musk’s grandfather Joshua Haldeman went to school to be a chiropractor in Iowa in the early 1920s, and after failing at that for a few years became a farmer — right before the Great Depression, in dust bowl conditions. He lost the farm, literally, in 1934. And it broke him. Note the sanitized sentence:
“He would remain leery of financial institutions and other bureaucracies throughout his life, a sentiment which would shape his political philosophy.”
I’ll say. From this point forward, everything was about blaming his own failures and paranoia on “the Conspiracy.”
After losing his farm, Haldeman moved to Canada, where he became the leader of “Technocracy, Inc.” a quasi-fascistic organization that espoused the elimination of capitalism and democracy in favor of a dictatorship ruled by “Technocrats” in charge a North American “Technate” from Greenland to Colombia.
After being arrested in 1940 for his participation in Technocracy, Haldeman took out an ad in the newspaper denouncing any assertion that Technocracy could possibly be in favor of “Nazism, Fascism or Communism”, a deceitful pattern he would follow through his life, despite the overt evidence to the contrary.
In 1941, when Technocracy, Inc. decided to align itself with the Soviet Union, Haldeman moved on.

The movement Joshua Haldeman chose to join after Technocracy was the Social Credit Party which was at the time spreading the Protocols of the Elders of Zion through all of its official channels, including what it called “The Basic Book Club.”

Haldeman tried and failed a number of times to run for office with the Social Credit Party of Saskatchewan. The last time was in 1949 as the Social Credit Party was distancing itself from conspiracy theories and antisemitism, so he picked his family up and moved them to the greener pastures of apartheid, South Africa, where he began writing about “AN INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRACY TO ESTABLISH A WORLD DICTATORSHIP” — the exact theme of the Protocols.
But the International Conspiracy of Jews to dominate the world didn’t stop with trying to bring down apartheid. In 1960, Joshua Haldeman wrote that he believed fluoride was a “brain-washing programme of the Conspiracy.”
Through the 1950s and 60s. Joshua Haldeman spent a great deal of his time flying around the Kalahari desert obsessively looking for a non-existent lost white civilization that had been promoted by a Canadian con artist — as he continued to seethe about “the Conspiracy.” Maye Musk is sitting with her chin in her hand below.
Like his grandson Elon, Joshua Haldeman seemed to be very concerned with other people being “brain-washed,” when it’s obviously an affliction he suffered from intensely himself. He was a man consumed by literal “Conspiracy” theories — and retribution.
Robert Kennedy Jr. is the lone wolf in his family that has decided to sell his soul to Trumpism. He openly admires his grandfather Joseph, who was a good friend and colleague of antisemite Henry Ford. Both were enthusiastic members of Charles Lindbergh’s pro-Hitler America First Party.
Hitler himself was inspired, like Joshua Haldeman, by the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (and Henry Ford) and alleged, as a pretext for the Holocaust, that international communist Jews were engaged in a conspiracy to take over his country — which should be reserved for white people.
Haldeman, similarly, felt that South Africa was for white people and believed the man to do it was the “Architect of Apartheid” Henrik Verwoerd.
The reason this matters is not just the historical curiosity, and the fact that this weaponized antisemitism is being transmitted from the past through the richest man in the world, it’s that this lie about a conspiracy of international Jews is being recreated through the federal government, at scale.
Rotting teeth is almost always a symptom of some other, worse, condition, like meth addiction, or abject poverty. It’s one of the things we pretty much know how to fix. But like seemingly everything else, we’re going to give it up, because of gullible white men who need an excuse to feel better than everyone else.
“Let the eat cake,” said Marie Antoinette with a laugh, “and make sure they forget to brush.”

Jim, how can you get your mini documentaries on major outlets? Do you have actual video documentaries ready for broadcast? This must be picked up by national venues. Where are the national journalists? Do they even know what you are dredging up?
Thank you, Jim. You always get to the essence of things. Appreciate your writing.
Nazism can be understood as people striving for recognition and their place in society. It took over the previous dominant role of the church. It was a new ideology that assigned well-understood roles to everyone.
Have found the work of Frans de Waal, primatologist, helpful in understanding status-seeking in humans. We are primates, too. Having higher ranking in society makes a lot of people feel superior to others. Apparently, this is a feeling many like. The military in addition to the wealthy and powerful enjoy this kind of hierarchy. It's not just males who want this kind of psychological dominance over others. Women also want to have rank, too, but it's not so hierarchical.
If society educated people about their primate nature, things could go more smoothly.
Because it's unconscioius, damage is done. People mistake societal ranking as a substitute for a healthy psyche (healthy self-esteem based on positive human qualities and characteristics). They've accepted cheap status for meaningful connections with themselves and others. Worse, as you mentioned, they are willing to throw others under the bus for that kind of recognition. That's a lose/lose social reality.
