What is the legitimate reason people intentionally deflect blame from Russia while this slaughter is happening?

Dear horseshoe enthusiasts:

Even if you are friendly to Russia for whatever ideological or political reasons, it is still, to be charitable, astonishingly poor taste to take their side it while this is happening in real time. Seriously, can you guys give it a rest while civilians are being mowed down by the thousands?
