So sick of Russian Rasputin types...

It sounds like a horrendous cocktail of science and the occult, concocted to please Putler. Noosphere+ Eurasianism+ longtermism+Accelerationism+???… what matters is that Putin and others believe in it. Dave’s warning is important.

I read what Dave posted last night. It is disturbing to say the least! If anyone isn't already following Dave Troy, he is an excellent follow. You will learn a lot of things not covered elsewhere in addition to different takes on what you may be currently reading or watching. What he posted last night is just the first of four parts.

Would finding out tfg is the greatest traitor of all recorded modern history suffice as a shock event? I am sure he gave away the ENTIRE store. Discuss?

@davetroy 6/ “Most have seen the "noosphere" as a utopian, optimistic vision: "what would happen if humanity could learn to cooperate, instead of fight?" Putin, however, has co-opted it into a different concept: "Noocracy" — rule by the wise, or a kind of "meritocratous monarchy."

AL:This is a strange divergence putin has taken, if true. It is the opposite of the underlying idea of one common earth mind, that is the noosphere. A mixing of power politics into ‘cosmic science’. Very troubling,

The perversion is horrendous, see also this book on Russian Orthodoxy mixed into nuclear weapons thinking in Russia https://mobile.twitter.com/ProfessorShaw/status/1546144384776916992…

@davetroy

13/Teilhard hypothesized a moment called the "Omega Point" marking the transition from Biosphere to Noosphere, This may be what Putin and Vaino are aiming to trigger with an "event," to be measured and manipulated with his imagined "Nooscope."

Spoiler alert: The Nooscope is a cartography of the limits of artificial intelligence, intended as a provocation to both computer science and the humanities.

What do you mean?

It means (without stealing much more of Dave's thunder): "Russian President Vladimir Putin says that whoever reaches a breakthrough in developing artificial intelligence will come to dominate the world." and the Russians want to harness and weaponize the noosphere in conjunction with AI. Any leader and allies of that leader (including key enabling actors in the US) who would use a nuclear power plant as a shield and arm Belarus aircraft with nukes, is not interested in using the noosphere or AI for benefit of humanity. They are not the "wise ones". As an example, see this link - the purpose of the Study: The article analyses consequences of the predicted convergence of artificial intelligence systems, telecommunications systems and human society.

Introduction

Numerous studies performed by the researchers of the Crimean Federal University actualized provisions of the noosphere theory. The noosphere model, within which individuals are analogs of biological neurons, and the noosphere is an analogue of the brain, was developed. This model makes it possible to give a natural-scientific interpretation of such concepts as “social consciousness”, “mentality”,

etc. It was established that social consciousness is a system property not reduced to the consciousness of individuals. However, the meaning of these concepts has not been revealed. Analysis of the noosphere (or its fragments, for example, ethnic groups) as an analogy of neural networks allows us to show that there is a transpersonal level of information processing, indirectly associated with the memory of individuals. At this level, the processes that determine peculiarities of mentality, a sociocultural code occur. This level of information processing generates public consciousness.

Thank you for elaborating. The devious part is indeed the weaponizing and harness this idea to the special interests of putin&co

Per Dave Troy: "29/I'll add: this doesn't mean a nuclear apocalypse is probable. But it does mean that the threat of one, or a limited event, may well be used to advance a plan to abandon the Westphalian model in favor of a Noocratic one. Analysts must understand that as a motivation."

Looks like they're preparing the cult revolt for the Trump traitor roundup.

The event will probably be a nuclear reactor meltdown once the bridge to Crimea is destroyed.

I’ve read through all of Dave’s thread twice, and I’m sorry but it just doesn’t make sense.

It’s full of plot holes, and is a general fail of the sniff test.

Spank Flaps, this thread is like Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. This is the first time I'm talking about it. It's a huge, long list of the most amazing ideas and arguments, and it never fails when you start using it. This is a lot of stuff you can't do in an hour or two; it's the book for the book. There's been loads of material on this topic.

If you like Atlas Shrugged then you probably just shouldn't read it (because it's too long and you're going to just write it in your head, as if nothing is true!), but I don't think you should. Atlas Shrugged wasn't written in 24 hours and it's not about reading one day. It's about sitting on your sofa, and watching, and you're going to try and figure it out.

If you want to find the best science fiction of the 20th century, check out the best science fiction books out there. You'll want to do a lot of reading. It takes a lot of time.
