For two full days, the corporate media played along with a defamation campaign against Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis, who, along with NY Attorney General Tish James, are two of the only lawyers in America doing their jobs.
Mike Roman, indicted in the Georgia election interference case, made a false, defamatory claim that Willis had an improper relationship with a prosecutor—and the judge in the case made the mind-boggling decision to have a hearing about it. Despite the obvious intention, to smear the prosecutor in a matter critical to national security, MSNBC, CNN, and of course Fox News, aired this witch trial wall-to-wall.
Fani Willis’s relationships, spending habits, and details of her life were turned over in public. Her father, ex-colleagues, and ex-boyfriend were grilled about salacious details—all to no avail, but that doesn’t matter at all.
Now, it’s one thing for the right-wing to use open psychological warfare campaign for ratings, but I watched in horror as people I generally like and trust on MSNBC went along with it. Former prosecutors insinuated that Fani Willis was “irresponsible” and that her perfectly normal relationship was “asking for it.” They bought into the ridiculous smear that she was somehow getting financially compensated by her former boyfriend.
It was nothing short of using Gamergate tactics in an openly misogynistic, racist psyop to cover up for the worst criminals in US history.
If you need any more convincing that our entire media ecosystem is going along with our national destruction, here is Mike Flynn taking the same smear all the way to it’s ultimate conclusion.
Unindicted co-conspirator Mike Flynn says he was questioned in the Georgia Grand Jury investigation into election interference by Fani Willis’s former boyfriend and launches into a blatantly racist diatribe about her “attitude” & says her investigation is “beyond arrogance, it’s evil.”
Flynn accuses the Georgia DA & her father of being Marxists and/or communists which means “we are in a period of history which is good vs. evil.”
There is no reason whatsoever to tell these specific lies unless you were trying to raise up a radicalized white supremacist army to overthrow the government. These are neo-Nazi talking points.
Unless the media makes some sort of magical transformation in the next several months, I fear we’re heading to a very dark place with no air cover.
A Personal Story
I wanted to share a piece I recently posted because I think it’s relevant to this same problem. The media is a target for corruption and fraud, just like any other institution made of humans—and unfortunately the rot is deep.
I’m going to tell a 3-year old personal, difficult story for two reasons. First, I think it may be useful for people to understand how active measures are conducted in the real world, and to clear up some… misconceptions.
When I shot my documentary, I had a lot going on. I had a Discord server with about 500 people doing research on disinformation, psychological warfare and QAnon. I was also working with professionals & experts to develop a plan to help the loved ones of QAnon cult members. I called it “The Thinkin Project.”
The idea was simple. There is widespread misunderstanding about how cults work & how to talk to cult members, and a lot of unaddressed trauma for people who have lost friends and family. If we could put together an easy-to-understand set of information to share widely, it might help bridge the gap and start the process of healing.
At the same time, I was talking to a lot of press. I did an hour long interview with Lesley Stahl for 60 Minutes about the family members of QAnon victims, I was answering questions from a NYT reporter for a profile, had an interview scheduled with NPR, and more.
All of this was destroyed through active measures conducted mostly by Americans. My name was trashed. My contacts were poisoned. 60 Minutes dropped me from the piece that I helped create at the last second, despite being told by everyone on set it was the best interview she had done in months. All my press contacts ghosted me. Every story about what I was doing disappeared.
Here is the piece I helped create. I provided several sources including the main person being interviewed.
This was just seven months after I started investigating QAnon. I’d been working 7 days/week. I had predicted the J6 insurrection beat by beat. And I had made a LOT of friends—which was my biggest mistake. I assumed when people said they wanted to help, they meant it. That was deeply naive.
At the very beginning of my investigation, I reached out to the leading “Q researchers” & “experts.” Since I saw that QAnon was using techniques that I helped invent for internet games 20 years ago, I thought I might be able to help them do what I assumed they were doing—exposing & trying to stop a dangerous cult. Again, deeply naive.
Within weeks, immediately after I published my first piece, which went viral, on August 16, 2020 connecting QAnon to Mike Flynn, the Russians and Jim Watkins, the entire community of “Q researchers” began a campaign to label me mentally ill, a “conspiracy theorist” or “BlueAnon.” It was, and is, traumatizing, which I’ve come to learn is the point.
It turned out that a number of the people who’d been stalking me and lying about me from this group had joined my Discord server in the guise of wanting to help. They gained my trust & offered insight into the people who were attacking me and my team. But they were actually there to destroy it.
They created chaos & drama, manufactured content to be used by a growing army of people trolling & stalking us on Twitter, and continued to feed me lies about what was happening around me. I confided with a core group of people I thought I could trust about what was happening in the press to help us, and about the documentary I was shooting.
They used this private info to destroy everything I had built. The final blow was a hit piece by David Gilbert at Vice News who turned out to be the “mainstream” stenographer for this entire group of people. I stepped down from leading The Thinkin Project in order to try and give it a chance, but it was destroyed along with my name, and my reputation.
The article was sourced by and quoted the people I had reached out to at the start, people I thought were on the same side, people I extended my trust to. Turns out you cannot do that in an information war. The entire article was a lie.
I want to emphasize that my personal story is only important because it is emblematic of the overall problem. We are too easily manipulated and victimized by our adversaries who are trying to cover up for organized, transnational crime.
Arrest Mike Flynn.

Wow Jim, thank you for sharing this. It's so upsetting and no doubt debilitating. I hope you have good support around you -- people don't know what to believe anymore. With so much danger in our midst, on so many levels, we have to keep trying to tell people what 's going on. I know it's not easy. I feel fragmented and spread too thin, but I will keep fighting and trying to expose this MindWar and your story.
An aside, I practice French with a good friend once a week, and after our conversation in French we started speaking in English about what's happening in the world -- she can't take the news, so try to give her small bits info at a time -- and I mentioned the Russians, their involvement in our elections and mentioned Active Measures -- and she stopped me and said "WAIT, what are you talking about?? I have no idea what you are saying"-- and I had to stop and take a deep breath and I realized so many don't see the threats as I do -- and mostly b/c they have busy lives and also they just can't take it.
Yeah, shocking to see corporate media like MSNBC on the Trump side of ending the trial.
