“We have to straighten out the press”
Donald Trump gave a disturbing press conference today, not because of the usual lying, enemy propaganda, and demented vowel movements he emanated, but because of how happy he was about everyone “coming to see him.” This included the CEOs of Apple, Google, and several pharmaceutical companies — whose vaccines the HHS Secretary nominee wants to revoke.
“This term everyone wants to be my friend. My personality changed or something.”
“The big difference is that the first time everybody was fighting me on all fronts.”

In fact, Donald Trump’s “personality” has changed — into an even purer form of the fascist demagogue he always wanted to be. The oligarchy and the billionaire class “want to be his friend” because they know otherwise he will punish them — legally, financially, and in the media. You either bend the knee or suffer the consequences. This is monarchy, not democracy.
Yesterday, the Vichy corporate overlords at ABC News and George Stephanopoulos obeyed in advance to a frivolous defamation suit by Donald Trump and settled for $15 million. Does this mean Donald Trump will now focus more on the country and stop waging lawfare on American citizens that tell uncomfortable truths?
Asked and answered:
“Could you see moving that to other people with individual platforms, social media, influencers?”
“Or newspapers yeah… You have to do it because they’re very dishonest.”
The Great Capitulation by the press is complete. Corporate media is completely captured by the oligarchy, as are social media platforms. Any resistance by cable news or major news outlets will be controlled opposition at best.
Trump agrees that some of the next targets will be “people with individual platforms” because individuality is not to be tolerated in his regime. This is what he wants Russian-endorsed QAnon promoter Kash Patel to do at FBI.
As my readers know, lawfare is something I’m very familiar with. It is terrifying, infuriating and heartbreaking to be attacked for speaking freely in America. To have your ability to make a living and support your own family be threatened by people with far more money, influence and power is incredibly intimidating. Nevertheless, the only right thing to do is fight it, as
did — and gloriously won.I will not sugarcoat this. We have just over a month until we arrive at the Gates of Hell. Time to dispense with the hopium and prepare for a long, dark trip. Find the people who have the guts to speak truth to power, now. Find the truth tellers and the fighters. Leave the Vichy press to mumble submissively to themselves. We’re on our own now.
So be it.

All this was to be expected once the corrupt Christofascist Supreme Court gave the president the powers of a king. Too bad Biden couldn't wrap his head around this as grandpa continues to live in a bipartisan fantasy world that doesn't exist. Those of us who love the concept of equal protection under the law never get the leaders we need to defend the actual constitution. The Republicans have pulled their inspiration from the way they use the Bible, picking and choosing those parts of the constitution they want and then making a right wing "interpretation" based on what god has spoken to them about, which of course supports what they want. We are totally screwed at this point. I suspect after his trip to kneel before our dear leader, Mark Zuckerberg will make it that criticism of the lying Trump regime will be removed as "against community standards."
