The Late Awakening: Russia Russia Russia

A recent indictment by DOJ is the tip of an iceberg dead ahead. Will it be enough of a warning?

In a move that took many by surprise, the DOJ and FBI made a move against Russian-funded propaganda in America by indicting two employees of Russian state media operation Russia Today (RT) on Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) and money-laundering charges.

More telling than the indictment itself is the 277-page FBI Affidavit released at the same time. It is very good investigative work, and tells a terrifying story of how $10 million of Russian narratives can be openly pumped into the American body politic.

I know reading these sorts of documents is not for everyone, but this one, if you can get around the FBI of it, it’s an amazing true crime spy story.

The summary is basically this. The Kremlin has been interfering in our elections for a long time, but when RT was banned in the US & Europe, the Kremlin instructed RT chief Margarita Simonyan to run “guerrilla projects… English-speaking projects” instead. She claims this network generated 14 billion views last year, “bigger than our biggest competitors English CNN, Al Jazeera…”

I highly recommend subscribing to this Youtube channel, and if you are on the former Twitter follow JuliaDavisNews who monitors what the Russians themselves say. It is a remarkable what they tell each other, unconcerned with who hears them on live TV, but when you look at what they’re telling each other in private it brings it all into even more stark relief.

The FBI affidavit effectively identifies Tim Pool, Benny Johnson, Dave Rubin, Lauren Southern and Tayler Hansen being paid between $100-400K per month from an “investment” of over $10 million laundered by Russian government employees to the owners of a company set up as a cut out, Tenet Media.

Note that these accounts on the former Twitter have followers in the millions, and based on my own personal data, have views well into the hundreds of millions per month. All of their content was literally being paid for by the Russian government.

The most fascinating part of the FBI affidavit is the Exhibits, which are mostly internal Russian government documents in which the Russians are very open about their goals and tactics. Here is their “algorithm for artificial generation of conflicts” which is a textbook example of a psychological operation aka a psyop.

Undeterred by revelations of Russian psychological warfare, yesterday the entire Russian propaganda network tried a new false narrative about immigrants eating people’s pets, and simultaneously launched an AI generated campaign to show Trump with animals. Note that it had to be created with AI because Trump famously hates animals and vice versa.

While this was an embarrassing spectacle, it’s also consistent with the Nazi-like tactics being used by people like Libs of TikTok terrorist Chaya Raichik. Compare this to the algorithm above. This is literally the “artificial generation of conflicts.”

Disturbingly, a detail in the affidavit is that one of the Russian government employees that laundered $10 million for Russian psyops was the former head of Rosatom, the official Russian state atomic energy corporation. From 2015, leading all the way into the Trump administration, Mike Flynn tried to give nuclear secrets to Rosatom. Flynn was texting about it at the inauguration. Also recall that Trump kept nuclear secrets in a shower at Mar-a-lago.

While the DOJ is currently allowing for Russian propagandists to have been “unwitting” subcontractors of the Russian government, that is nonsense. While people may not know the direct source of their income, there is a simple algorithm for determining whether someone is a tool of the Russians:

Yes, this is an oversimplification. You may ask what is “Russian shit”? Well, they freely tell each other the narratives they want to spread and why. This is effectively a key to the puzzle of Russian psychological warfare. If people are spreading these narratives, witting or not, they are useful to the Russians and it valid to ask why.

White grievance, anti-Ukraine propaganda, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, racism, etc. — these are all narratives that didn’t start with Russia, but have been normalized and popularized through American proxies of the Russian Federation.

On a personal note, as this news broke, there was a new outbreak of stalking and infiltration by people who have been doing it for four years now. I note that the Russians themselves say that part of their “algorithm” involves “neutralizing” and “undermining” counter-propaganda.

Well, the Russians and their American co-conspirators found out my friends and I are not that easy to get rid of, despite their best efforts. And now their dirty operations are being outed.

A “Late Awakening” is better than none. But we have less than two months before the most consequential election since 1860. And we’re headed right off a cliff unless we figure out how to prevent this election from being stolen — and from wide-scale violence no matter how it turns out.

We’re at war and we better start being honest with ourselves about it. The Russians are telling us. Believe them.
