The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
While visiting our former conquerors, “King Donald” Trump dismantles the Constitution
On Constitution Day in America, Donald Trump rode in a golden carriage with the King of England, forced ABC to suspend Jimmy Kimmel for telling the truth, and made it a terrorist act to oppose fascism.

America is a failed democracy on the verge of full military dictatorship. The First Amendment has fallen. It’s no longer about what’s going to happen; it’s just about how fast.
Personally, I feel quite threatened. I make a point of referring to myself as antifascist online because fascism is what I have seen looming for five years—a death cult that doesn’t just seek political power; it seeks racial holy war. I have every expectation that the federal government will target me for my speech. Sadly, this is where we are.
As I’ve explained, “ANTIFA” (short for antifascist) is a boogeyman, a scapegoat. It does not exist as an organized group, much less a “MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.” However, a corrupt DOJ, FBI, and DHS can take the word “Antifa” and twist it to mean anything remotely “left.” They have numerous legal tools—RICO, conspiracy statutes, emergency powers—that make this far more than an empty threat.
Joe Kent, a neo-Nazi former Congressional candidate, was given the job of Director of the National Counterterrorism Center working for DNI Tulsi Gabbard—with the resources of the entire U.S. intelligence community at his disposal. But rather than focusing on genuine foreign or domestic terror threats—like the one that killed Charlie Kirk—Kent has targeted imaginary groups like Antifa.

Kent’s appointment was supported by people like Mike Flynn and Erik Prince. And now he has a mandate from the president to take action in places like Seattle and Portland—as well as against any individuals or groups that can be so labeled. The true purpose could not be clearer; they are setting the stage for a political purge that will give Trump and the GOP permanent power. In short, we are watching a coup from inside the government—a complete takedown of the Constitution, starting with the First Amendment.
The national martyrdom of Charlie Kirk—a podcaster who fueled Trump’s youth movement with racist, misogynist, and theocratic propaganda—was made official by cowardly executives at Disney/ABC who “indefinitely suspended” late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel for nothing more than a factual statement. This is what Kimmel said:
“The Maga Gang [is] desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
This mild and absolutely factual statement was spun by the FCC Chair Brendan Carr on the podcast of Benny Johnson—who was identified last year as a Russian intelligence subcontractor—as a “concerted effort to try to lie to the American people.” Carr was the author of Project 2025’s strategy for dismantling the FCC.
“It’s long past the time that a lot of these licenses broadcasters themselves … say ‘We’re not gonna run Kimmel anymore ... because we licensed broadcasters are running the possibly of fines or licensed revocation from the FCC’”
—FCC Chair, Brendan Carr
Carr’s appearance was taken as a threat by Nexstar TV Group, which is in the middle of a $6.2 billion acquisition that it needs a regulatory green light for. Nexstar claimed that it suddenly “strongly objected” to Kimmel’s comments and would preempt his show “for the foreseeable future.”
Nexstar is owned by the infamously right-wing Sinclair Group, which put out a letter demanding Kimmel apologize and give a donation to Charlie’s widow Erika Kirk—and announced they would broadcast a Charlie Kirk “tribute” in Kimmel’s time slot.

The brazenness of the people who conspired to take down Jimmy Kimmel is breathtaking. A few days after three Fox hosts openly suggested murdering homeless people, the federal government used its regulatory power to force a major network to censor a comedian over a joke.
This is, of course, wildly unconstitutional on its face. The First Amendment is about prohibiting the government from doing what it just did. Right on the FCC’s own website it could not be clearer that Brendan Carr’s actions were illegal. But when the president is not just overjoyed about it, but eager to fire the rest of late night television as well, who’s going to stop him?
The Democratic Party, with a few notable exceptions, is not providing leadership. The feckless triumvirate of Ken Martin, Chuck Schumer, and Hakeem Jeffries offers little hope of heroics from the political world in the near future.
However, I did want to highlight one speech by Jamie Raskin, who happens to be from my former home district in Maryland. Raskin was questioning FBI Director Kash Patel and brought up the children’s books Patel wrote—“The Plot Against the King.” Unbelievably, this is all true:
“While most other new FBI directors drew on their experience as FBI agents, you didn't have that. But you did write a picture book trilogy for children ages 5 and up based on your experience clashing with President Trump's political enemies.
In your book, you describe your literary alter ego, Kash the Knight as a wacky, easily bored wizard carrying out King Donald's vengeance by driving his enemies out of the kingdom. In the books, King Donald is besieged by the evil Hillary Queentown, but saved in the end by Kash.
The end Kash goes on to catch mules who are stealing the 2020 election for the great King Donald from Sleepy Joe. And then in the third book, Kash takes down the Dragon of the Jalapenos nicknamed the DOJ. Your supporters had hoped that you would graduate from imagining yourself a romantic fairy tale knight to actually running America's premier federal law enforcement agency.
Alas, just as we've learned how dangerous it is to put a science denying anti-vaxxer in charge of our public health, we've learned how dangerous it is to name his director of the FBI, a man who thinks of himself as a fairy tale knight who keeps a fire-breathing dragon named DOJ at home to forcibly drive villains out of the kingdom.”
The dark irony of this scenario is punctuated by the presence of “King Donald” Trump on his second state visit to the United Kingdom, a former empire that included colonial America. It was the fight against this monarchy that created the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights—and the First Amendment.
This morning, the White House sent out Faith Director Jenny Korn to dance on the grave of free speech—and to celebrate Americans being fired from their jobs.
“But now we're on alert. We know who those people are because they have told us who they are and they've shown their evil. And thank goodness for companies now who are firing nurses and teachers and people like Jimmy Kimmel because people should not be able to celebrate others' deaths in a very public way and then keep their jobs. So congratulations to companies in America for doing the right thing finally.“ [h/t Aaron Rupar]
As the Trump regime decides what jokes we should hear and what TV shows we can watch, I am reminded of one of my favorite songs. “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.”

You have my lifelong admiration, Jim. Standing up for the complete truth at a time like this. Brave and good soul that you are.
I believe most people in this country- especially us older ones who never knew anything but democracy (I’m white, not black, so I was ignorant that way. Still, the ideas were alive- and pointed to as the way to be) are traumatized.
Because those ideas— the ideas expressed in our Constitution — are being smashed in broad daylight by people who use the same words but turn the meaning upside down .
It is very much like being in an abusive family. Most succumb and get mean themselves.
Thank you for being here and for never stopping and trying.
I feel gut punched constantly. I didn't know I could be this unaware of some things, or this angry at the money that has made all this malignancy sprout and grow all through our society. Should never got shit done. I need to find how I resist. How I can definitively make it easier for my kids to succeed? I do the calls. I subscribe where I can. I go to marches. I understand I must find community. I take care of my dad and it's hard. So is life I will figure it out, but my time isn't infinite and change stops for no one. I appreciate your articles and your courage speak
