White Man Jump Scare: Evola’s Theology of Cope
The election wasn’t just a loss—it was a narcissistic injury, and the panic is the tell.
The Democratic victory over the Republican Party in the 2025 off-year elections was not just decisive, it was total. From every political perspective, it could not have been a more glaring rebuke of the Trump regime. Democrats:
Flipped two seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission—the first Democrats elected to statewide constitutional office since 2006
Gained a near-supermajority in the Virginia House of Delegates, flipping 13 seats
Dominated in Pennsylvania—including holding off a challenge to three PA Supreme Court justices
Passed Proposition 50 in California, which will allow a temporary redistricting to counter Texas gerrymandering—by a 28-point margin
Elected Abigail Spanberger to be governor of Virginia by 15 points—and swept Lt. Governor and AG races
Elected Mike Sherrill as New Jersey governor, in a race that had been predicted to be close, by 13 points
Elected Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist, as Mayor of New York City, with over 50% of the vote—along with victories in Cincinnati, Detroit, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and other major cities
While the result of any of these individual elections would not be surprising, the margins and turnout outperformed expectations in every race. This was a clear reaction—the body politic’s national immune system has been activated by the Trump regime. People don’t like what’s going on in America at all.
After 12 months, the limbic threat system Trump is so adept at triggering is starting to zero in on himself.
Not So Fast, Sir
This shift has been reflected in Trump’s poll numbers, now at historic lows of 63% disapproval. For those who want to retain liberal democracy as the American form of government, this is a very good sign that the majority is still on board with the project. After a year of corporate capitulation, rising prices, global embarrassment, state-sponsored propaganda, shutdowns, demolitions, and violent federal paramilitaries, people can no longer avert their eyes.

In a normal democracy, with a president instead of a cult leader, this kind of wave election would be a sign to the government that its agenda needs to be adjusted, or even—gasp—moderated. But with Donald Trump in power this was not a sign that it’s time to reach across the aisle, it was a sign to destroy the aisle itself.
The reaction to this moment was not political, it was psychological. It was a mass narcissistic injury sustained by primarily one demographic.
Emmer-gency!
At Speaker Mike Johnson’s daily alternate reality presser, Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) complained about the Democratic victories: “Pro-terrorist Marxist radicals are now the left’s main stream.”
As proof of his claim, Emmer quoted “Commie Mamdani”—the now mayor-elect of New York City:
“‘We will prove that there is no problem too large for government to solve and no concern too small for it to care about.’
That is a direct quote from commie Mamdani and it should terrify every single freedom loving American.“
Emmer, the third most powerful Republican in the House, transforms the idea of government doing anything, big or small, or caring about people’s concerns, into a radical communist terror plot. It’s National Socialism by Schoolhouse Rock.
Gad’s Saad
As another example of a very normal reaction to this resounding election loss, the half-trillionaire owner of Twitter, SpaceX, and Tesla quote-tweeted Canadian grifter Gad Saad—who is on a mission to end the scourge of empathy.
Elon Musk wrote:
“Western Civilization is doomed, unless the core weakness of suicidal empathy is recognized and actions are taken that are hard, but necessary for survival.”
Musk’s projected terror about the imminent demise of “Western Civilization” is the core eschatology for incels: If white men are not protected as the elite class—the aristocracy—humanity will degenerate into chaos. It will be a genetic apocalypse.
But Gad Saad’s rationale for “hard action” is a trivial gimmick stolen from Julius Evola (1898-1974), who wanted to be Mussolini’s philosopher, had a little more success plying his ideas with Himmler and the Nazis—and died having never worked a day in his life.
Evola’s Fascism Cookie-Cutter
Evola’s legacy was creating a pseudo-philosophical scaffold for protecting men from narcissist injury—through legitimizing their superiority as spiritual. His occult metaphysics turned identity collapse into psychological control—which is why his bad ideas were so durable and flexible.
Evola inspired a wave of far-right admirers and remixers who he actively sought out and encouraged—and who funded his lifestyle. He helped inspire the original Nazis, the European Identitarian movement, Aleksandr Dugin, Steve Bannon’s alt-right, the Dark Enlightenment, and the zoo of Satanic esoteric Nazi movements categorized as the “Left-Hand Path,” including:
The Order of Nine Angles
Temple of Set
Atomwaffen
Esoteric Hitlerism
What all of these movements have in common is that the subject of the ideology, as embodied by Musk and Saad in this example, see themselves as spiritual aristocrats—not just racially and sexually superior, but metaphysically more worthy of power than the Other. It is a psychological escape hatch for the panic of losing authority: It’s not your fault; it’s theirs.
Evola provided a cheat code for narcissists—and insecure men who aspire to be narcissists—to justify their violence, bigotry, and hate: “ONE FREE TICKET TO VALHALLA! BECAUSE YOU ARE SPECIAL!”
The only small print is that you have to give up your humanity. You have to give up your empathy and humility because it is weak and fails to recognize your superiority.

This deliberate rejection of “compassion” is at the heart of every authoritarian regime, big or small. It’s why Hannah Arendt and Gustave Gilbert both saw the absence of empathy as the definition of evil in their observations of the Nazis.
Theology of Cope
Evola, and each of his followers and accidental apostles—from Himmler, to Saad, to Emmer, to Musk—have a similar goal: to compensate for their own collapsing identity by imagining a caste system in which they don’t have to do anything to come out on top. It is the ultimate in white man DEI: Need to win? Just show up with white skin, a Y-chromosome, and a bad attitude.
But they do have a problem—a big one. The delusions they’ve created to justify themselves are not just hollow, they don’t work. Americans, broadly, appear to finally see that now. You don’t need to understand the origins of Italian fascism or the ramblings of occultist philosophers to see that this regime has no answers. All it has delusions, lies, and cope.
What we’re seeing is narcissistic panic writ large—white man anxiety of losing the demographic free ride they’ve enjoyed for so long. People like Musk are the aberration trying to convince people they’re the norm. So much for that.
But the question remains, what will we do with this information? Will the collective authority commanded by the American people on Election Night 2025 show us the light at the end of the tunnel? There is no way to know. The finale of this season is a long way off—but this may have signaled the end of the beginning.
