I was an only child of a single mother, a latchkey kid from an early age responsible for getting myself to school and back every day. So I was alone, a lot. It was a curse and a blessing because while I became deeply independent, which has served me well, my childhood was also very fearful.
The mind abhors a vacuum, so when all alone in an apartment at 6 years old, the dark hallway can become a terrifying void where monsters live. My isolation and introversion also made me painfully, dreadfully shy, which just made everything worse. So I became a prime target for bullies.
Bullies use fear as their primary weapon, so when they find a target who has fear in abundance it becomes a way to get what they want. I learned over many years that by by really examining your own fears, and facing them directly, the world becomes a far more interesting place. This is especially true with bullies.
So now that we’re all heading into a regime that is dedicated to bullying as a primary mode of operation, it is critical to remember that the incoming regime, like the bully, will thrive on your fear. For example, let’s say someone calls you a name you don’t like, for example “Kash Patel is a delusional liar” as former Pence Counter-terrorism Senior Advisor Olivia Troye correctly did on Monday.
What’s the bully’s reaction? A threat, of course. To create the fear of litigation, financial loss, and harassment. Kremlin asset Kash Patel’s lawyer, Jesse Binnall, who is also Mike Flynn’s lawyer in his defamation suit against me, sent a threatening letter to Olivia, as he did to me. And Olivia is doing exactly the right thing. She is signaling that she is not afraid.

The only way that America, or the world for that matter, will get out of this is to stand up to the people who count on your fear to make you submit.
Unfortunately, the current administration seems far more driven by fear, and seems far more interested in obeying in advance, than standing up for the people they swore an oath to protect.
They could learn a little something from Frank Herbert.

Thank you for powerful reminder to “face our fear”. So many of our default responses to the challenge of the bully, is to fearfully appease the bully, to get by.
We freak out anytime someone criticizes us. In general. Good arguments are a thing of the past. People at my job will straight up invent stories to not be wrong now. It never used to be like that. Seems like most normies were conditioned to never stray from their safe happy bubble they built. I think the other side saw this weakness & began to resent it. Helping usher in a strongman. Combined with the weaponization of all of the above of course.
