A letter that will go unheard
Mr. President,
In 1933, Weimar Germany voluntarily handed over power to Adolf Hitler. Speaking for myself, I feel abandoned by you and my government just as the people of Weimar must have. After 50 years of allegedly fighting for our democracy, you are capitulating to a Fourth Reich. They told us what they are going to do, and you are just letting them do it.
Are you really going to be the Franz von Papen of the 21st century, Joe?
You had the power to fix this. You should have had the information to understand the threat that we were facing. Instead you treated it like just another Democratic presidency, hoping that if the economy were good enough it would fix the problem with all the “MAGA extremists.”
You were wrong. You didn’t listen to those of us who told you who tried to steal the election from you in 2020. You let your DOJ and FBI drag their feet with the perfect timing to let Donald Trump and his co-conspirators go free. You prosecuted all the foot soldiers and never went after the “generals.” You prioritized “norms” and the “independence” of the DOJ over us. You failed to lead, to demand accountability — from Merrick Garland, Chris Wray and the others who let this happen on your watch.
I hear you talking now about “all that we accomplished” in your “historic administration” as if that will have any impact on the psychopaths who will destroy everything that you have done. You could have been the inflection point to preserve our world and make it better, instead you presided over a transition into an authoritarian global nightmare.
To hear this is just a “setback” is insulting. You are leaving your nation to the wolves and you won’t even be honest about it. I put myself in the crosshairs for this country, Joe Biden, as did many patriots who fought alongside me. Instead of hearing us, you are just letting them pull the trigger.
I have deep respect for you, Joe. I fought hard for you. But in this moment, as you gaslight us that it’s all going to be fine, my loyalty is shattered.

President Joe Biden has a resolute commitment to the institution. With his commitment, comes blaring blindness to the fact that the country he so loves woke up to January 1933 Weimar, yesterday. As the Department of Justice has the Special Counsel wrapping up federal charges against the president-elect, the POTUS is guiding us into the next Holocaust.
Our son recently asked for a shirt with the Three Arrows that reads, "sometimes antisocial, always antifascist." While he is a Physics major, he is an avid reader and knows quite well what the Three Arrows represented in the Weimar Republic. I was delighted to get him the shirt and bought myself one to boot. Now, I regret that purchase as I fear for his safety riding his bike across the university campus.
The same kiddo texted me yesterday to "check on me." We went back and forth for a bit. He sent an upbeat message explaining how the vote protecting abortion rights in Arizona had passed. It was that moment that I realized that he had no idea what is to come... like most Americans. Unlike most Americans, he caught up with reality after a couple more exchanges. He is 19 years old.
Circling back to the POTUS, one has to ask, how is it that he is blind to what he is setting us up for? The gravity of allowing a man who is a known predator lead the USA into a fascist regime (with bells and whistles) is grotesque. How is it that a 19 year old can pick up on what happened and the damning implications with relative ease, while an entire Department of Justice allows this to come to fruition?
I refuse to believe there are not people who know what is coming. I do not know if they are fearful of speaking out or complicit in orchestrating the demise of Democracy, but it is unconscionable. How is it possible for there to be nobody in the Department of Defense or the Defense Intelligence Agencies up in arms about the fact that the president-elect has explicitly stated that he will weaponize the military against citizens? Who knows, maybe they know and are working frantically, but even so - what good will it do in January?
People come up with default responses such as - the Constitution states... No, there is no Constitution under an autocratic regime. People are not paying attention. Our government is ablaze and everyone who touts their love for this country the most are warming their hands by the fire. Yesterday we listened to Kamala Harris talk about the peaceful transition of power. There is nothing to say to that. She said now is not the time to throw our hands in the air, but the time to roll up our sleeves... for what? The conversation is lunacy!
I couldn’t agree with you more. Merrick Garland was such a profound disappointment, I am beginning to think he was complicit. President Biden was playing by the rules while the orange man was acting out his wrestlemania persona for four years. November 5 was not an election, it was a coup. Bomb threats phoned in from Russia, DOJ officials barred from the vote counting rooms, voting machines malfunctioning & all in states that might have gone blue. The counts were being supervised by election deniers in many states. Then at midnight, suddenly everything was all done, tied up in a bow and presented to us. No questions asked. We have been betrayed by our own people.
