I couldn’t agree with you more. Merrick Garland was such a profound disappointment, I am beginning to think he was complicit. President Biden was playing by the rules while the orange man was acting out his wrestlemania persona for four years. November 5 was not an election, it was a coup. Bomb threats phoned in from Russia, DOJ officials barred from the vote counting rooms, voting machines malfunctioning & all in states that might have gone blue. The counts were being supervised by election deniers in many states. Then at midnight, suddenly everything was all done, tied up in a bow and presented to us. No questions asked. We have been betrayed by our own people.

As the Department of Justice has the Special Counsel wrapping up federal charges against the president-elect, the POTUS is guiding us into the next Holocaust.
Our son recently asked for a shirt with the Three Arrows that reads, "sometimes antisocial, always antifascist." While he is a Physics major, he is an avid reader and knows quite well what the Three Arrows represented in the Weimar Republic. I was delighted to get him the shirt and bought myself one to boot. Now, I regret that purchase as I fear for his safety riding his bike across the university campus.
The same kiddo texted me yesterday to "check on me." We went back and forth for a bit. He sent an upbeat message explaining how the vote protecting abortion rights in Arizona had passed. It was that moment that I realized that he had no idea what is to come... like most Americans. Unlike most Americans, he caught up with reality after a couple more exchanges. He is 19 years old.
Circling back to the POTUS, one has to ask, how is it that he is blind to what he is setting us up for? The gravity of allowing a man who is a known predator lead the USA into a fascist regime (with bells and whistles) is grotesque. How is it that a 19 year old can pick up on what happened and the damning implications with relative ease, while an entire Department of Justice allows this to come to fruition?
I refuse to believe there are not people who know what is coming. I do not know if they are fearful of speaking out or complicit in orchestrating the demise of Democracy, but it is unconscionable. How is it possible for there to be nobody in the Department of Defense or the Defense Intelligence Agencies up in arms about the fact that the president-elect has explicitly stated that he will weaponize the military against citizens? Who knows, maybe they know and are working frantically, but even so - what good will it do in January?
People come up with default responses such as - the Constitution states... No, there is no Constitution under an autocratic regime. People are not paying attention. Our government is ablaze and everyone who touts their love for this country the most are warming their hands by the fire. Yesterday we listened to Kamala Harris talk about the peaceful transition of power. There is nothing to say to that. She said now is not the time to throw our hands in the air, but the time to roll up our sleeves... for what? The conversation is lunacy!
There is nothing in our constitution that specifies that a felon can't be a candidate. In fact, there are no requirements beyond age, a natural born citizen and living in the USA for 14 years. This has to change. Meanwhile, Biden makes a big deal about attending Trump's inauguration even though Trump didn't attend his....Wow! Totally hung up on the age old proper behavior, while sending the message "come on in!"
The normalization of what is abnormal is somewhat familiar from practicing antiracism... The newspaper coverage of trump that took him seriously and place his red face above Harris' blue and sometimes blurred one... etc. Just how far will this go and how long will it last... terrifying. I see zero silver lining.
