There's a coterie of Americans - the inner circle, whatever you want to call them, comprised of the visiible - Trump et. al, Tech oligarchs, and the less visiible - Heritage people, Federalist, others, that spends All their time plotting how not to lose power. So there's this hive...furiously buzzing...who are completely ignorning how the rest of Americans. feel about them...and they now know also that losing power could put them in prison -- in a sane America, so we'll almost certainly have to find a new way to deal with them to get them out of power.
The emotional undertone seems suppressed. Low key depression. A kind of patience turned hard. Aggressive behavior on the roads. I’m not in an urban area. No one I see is prepared to fight. On the contrary. Want to be normal. Even feigning normalcy.
I cannot believe the fire marshals or whoever oversees the fireworks display are going to allow this...I hope a massive storm arrives at 9:30pm and destroys the whole setup...
There could be a highly toxic cloud over all of DC as Jim warns. Best at least wear a Covid type mask or better yet a respirator. Another example of the fascist death-cult that is late stage Amerikan capitalism.
Family who live in DC came home for the weekend, knowing that DC would not be habitable. Because of the air pollution, noise, and the feeling of being in a city under siege. Add to that the bloviating from the Oval and you have hell on earth.
Perhaps those who attend this sick display of American Might with 10 hours of Air Force flyovers, and thousands of mid-air "colorful" explosions, will get a taste of what it feels like to be under attack. All we can do is hope there are no accidents, crashes, heart attacks, or heat stroke victims. Then again, perhaps that's what he is hoping for.
This is the ugliest display of one man's lust for power and violence in our nation's history.
If only that damn section of catwalk could've waited about 36 more hours before deciding to dislodge itself. Seriously. If another 10' section of poorly installed metal catwalk decides to do us all a solid and dislodge itself again tomorrow night, just like that one did, and take him out in one fell swoop, I might actually have to consider believing there's a god once again.

If we can ever get rid of the power of the NRA by ending Citizens United maybe then we can start ridding this country of the gun culture. I’ve never had a gun, I don’t know anyone who owns a gun and I’ve lived here for longer than I will admit.
On YouTube I have watched the many visitors who have come here for the FIFA games from Europe and I’ve seen how they have been so surprised by how friendly Americans are. One American woman said that we can be friendly because we all carry guns! WTF⁉️
If the midterms are corrupted, I expect that 37% to increase exponentially. When a population cannot seek remedy from tyranny through peaceful protest and honest elections, there aren't many other options for salvation left on the table.
Rational citizens should hope for the best, but they had better prepare for the worst.
