Years after Pinochet's death, people are still dealing with the trauma from that regime. Children who grew up without parents, because they were disappeared, are adults now. Those traumatized adults have to deal with the fact that those directly responsible for the torture and murder of their parents and relatives walk the streets with impunity. While I recognize the value of peace and reconciliation, I am not sure it is the most effective approach to justice after a period of raw evil.

"Socialism" seems to be a label applied to anything that helps ordinary people and poses a potential threat to the oligarchs.

There are a few good documentary films and series out there about Colonia Dignidad, starting with A SINISTER SECT series on Netflix.

If you are ever in Santiago, visit el Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos. It's all about the overthrow of Allende and the war of the Pinochet regime against its own citizens.
