It sounds like Blue Sky is also a concern

Our mayor in this election in our city was voted in grass roots - he beat the incumbent mayor and had no social media presence - some radio and word of mouth

I think we might all need to reconsider what social media is and what parts of it is even needed

It is looking more and more like this election was hacked from the inside. Remember, Steve Feinberg is an owner at Dominion Voting Systems.

While "It will be extremely difficult to tell truth from lies, friend from foe, and reality from fiction." , it will not be impossible. What is necessary is to verify the speaker/poster and whether they are trustworthy. Also to consider the claim being made: is it reasonable? Does it raise other questions? Does it rely on unsubstantiated materials?

We CAN tell truth from lies but it does take effort.

I have deleted my x account, moved to BlueSky and loving it. Life is about choices. I choose peace online. I don't wish to read the "c" word in posts...so shoot me now. I want a place for productive planning of the resistance and with the lists of MAGATs that are so easy to ban...BlueSky is it. I am finding so much humor in it all and we all know life is easier with a laugh or two. After I started following you, Heidi and Jack on twitter, I checked my notifications and I was followed by Interpol (Russia), Elmo(four different Elmo accounts) and another group of white males all with aviator glasses. This is creepy for a single middle aged women. So I began checking daily and no sooner did I delete these follows, there were several more following. Fuck them all! I don't like to be told what to do. Not by anyone. I hear what you are saying, but what space did I really have that was private on twitter...I didn't have a private space. In honesty, I haven't given up anything of value. Let the MAGATS yell and scream at each other. I am okay with that.

Whatever is best for your personal well-being is what you should do. I’m not saying you should subject yourself to the abusive shitshow on Twitter, just that deleting your account gives up your space voluntarily when it’s hard to know how things will pan out.

I urge Signal and Discord. Discord lets you have your own servers for group chats and video cons; Signal is extremely secure - so far. - you can do group chats and calls.

I agree that Bluesky - and probably Mastodon are ops of some kind.

Think WWI and WWII subrosa comms

Even better - Medieval subrosa comms strategies and tactics.

Old tech .

very fair take. I would also urge folks not to nuke their Twitter/X handles entirely because bad actors could snap it up and rejigger for propaganda. I'm not ceding the space; rather, focusing more time on Bluesky but keeping a foothold on Elmo's shithole until... not sure when. but we'll cross that Nazi bridge when we get there 🤣
