East Wing Demolition: Trump’s Political Transgenderism
Trump’s desecration of the White House is an attempt to reshape the world to erase those he’s most afraid of.
Donald Trump, with significant help from Elon Musk, weaponized bigotry against transgender people as a central pillar of his campaign strategy. He has followed through on that crusade, repeating phrases like “Democrats want transgender for everybody” and falsely insisting “transgenderism” is an “ideology”—while expelling trans people from the military and threatening to take away their right to bear arms.
Trans people and immigrants are the first two lines of the 21st century edition of Niemöller’s poem about the Nazis: “First they came for.”
But now Trump is performing an act of forced gender reassignment surgery on America—in a very literal way. By demolishing the East Wing of the White House, he is attempting to annihilate the feminine heart of America—to erect a giant golden phallus in its place.
The East Wing, as it stood for 124 years, was constructed under Theodore Roosevelt as an auxiliary space and guest entrance, and expanded by FDR during World War II, largely to cover construction of an underground secure facility known as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC).
The East Wing grew to be the First Lady’s domain, holding her office and housing her staff, while serving as the center of visitor access, social functions, and services tied to the White House’s ceremonial and public role.
When he announced that he was going to start construction on a giant ballroom a few months ago, Donald Trump promised that he would not change the White House.
However, after months of spiraling into narcissistic collapse, he decided instead to symbolically eliminate the competition—specifically, women and the public.
The enormous golden ballroom will be 90,000 square feet, if not bigger by now, at nearly twice the size of the White House itself and reportedly modeled after the Grand Ballroom at Mar-a-lago.
Trump’s elimination of the East Wing is, to use Trump’s own phrase, “transgenderism”: in the sense that it is a forced sex change of the White House. Trump’s relationship with women—and girls—is at the heart of his psychological collapse. He cannot escape the fact that his deviance and abuse are going to be even more exposed through the Epstein files, so he is trying to erase the victim entirely—to symbolically annihilate the female from his physical surroundings.
The semiotics—the signs—of Trump’s desecration of the People’s House couldn’t be more blatant. He is replacing the welcome mat with a golden gate. He is replacing public service with self-deification. And he is irrevocably altering the physical footprint to make his monument grander than the home of the presidency itself.
We are witnessing the paranoid marking of territory by an alpha male under severe duress: grandiosity, delusion, and moral inversion writ large. It is a last ditch attempt by a narcissist to reshape the world around him to erase the things he’s afraid of: women, and We the People.
