Jim, I love the analogy of the boat headed for the falls and the waiters keep serving
drinks to distract us while we go over the falls (our rule of law protections are taken from us).I do not love that it is happening. Thank you for that thoughtful piece. I am not in denial about it but,being an American, I have always felt protected. I haven’t experienced that reality. It is hard for me to wrap my head around someone deliberately destroying something so beautiful. That is what Trump and the fascists among us are proposing. While I do take it to heart and greatly fear it, it is beyond bleak . I am looking for some reason to not open a vein.
People fear Trump. He loves that because it's his power. He outed the judge's daughter and used his intimidation campaign on Merchan and his family and he caved in along with others in the news media that was reported this week. MSNBC sounds as though it could be a thing of the past very shortly. I feel like there's an out of control train coming down the tracks headed right for us.
I guess so many of us are feeling abandoned by the outgoing administration. It seems we are being “peacefully” delivered into the hands of an unhinged fascist bent on destroying us. I don’t know how it will play out but we are 75 million strong and we have to move forward. There is no going back.
I have long followed and learned much from your work, Jim. Thank-you for that forever. But right now I'm still in the dark about WHAT TO DO? This resistance needs to take form and have leaders. How does that happen? I can't do much except donate a little and work somehow from home. I really have no idea how this resistance comes together as a powerful movement against what is coming. Thanks again for all you do.

75M strong could get alot accomplished if we worked at it. There's more of us than there are of them. What would a revolt look like in today's world?
