Vitaly Gerasimov is the second general killed in Ukraine
UPDATE: I confused Vitaly Gerasimov with Valery Gerasimov. Sorry for the mistake in my email. I woke up and partied on Valery’s grave too soon. :(

It’s not him, sadly. It’s Vitaly, who was in charge of the invasion of Crimea, not Valery. Olga Lautman tweeted yesterday “ Just to clear something up. This is NOT Valery Gerasimov who is the chief of general staff of armed forces,” and then “He is reportedly the nephew though.”
I also thought it was him. It’s still a very big deal, the name Gerasimov carries a lot of weight.
Maybe related, but not the same general named Gerasimov. The one above is Valery Gerasimov (still alive unfortunately). The one killed is Vitaly. Causing confusion.
