Go Hogg Wild: Evolve Or Die
If the Democrats want to survive this moment, they have to learn something from the enemy.
One thing you can say for Donald Trump is that he has managed to stiffen the backbone of many of our former allies, whose populations are rejecting Trumpism, and all of its attendant horrors, including Canada by electing moderate liberal Mark Carney, and Australia by reelecting center-left labor party Prime Minister Anthony Albanese last night. This is decidedly good news and everyone should take a moment to remember that, despite everything our enemies have done, democracy is not dead yet.
In spite of the obvious signals from the world that everything Trump is doing is repugnant, he still decided to insult 1.4 billion Catholics by posting an image of himself as the pope from the White House account, while Cardinals are gathering for a conclave to decide on the future direction of the Church. This seems especially disgraceful since JD Vance was one of the last people to visit Pope Francis.
One can only hope the new pope will show the Vatican is not aligned with America’s godless demented tyrant either.

But while the world is trying to put up a fight, in America, the Democrats are doing the usual. Nothing. Instead they’re debating whether they should do anything at all.
A month after the inauguration of Donald Trump, fossilized political hack James Carville wrote this in the New York Times [Archive]
“With no clear leader to voice our opposition and no control in any branch of government, it’s time for Democrats to embark on the most daring political maneuver in the history of our party: roll over and play dead. Allow the Republicans to crumble beneath their own weight, and make the American people miss us. Only until the Trump administration has spiraled into the low 40s or high 30s in public approval polling percentages should we make like a pack of hyenas and go for the jugular. Until then, I’m calling for a strategic political retreat.“
At the same time, Parkland survivor and DNC Vice Chair David Hogg is advocating to primary “ineffective Democrats” and, shockingly, running into opposition, including Carville.
Let’s be clear, David Hogg is right, but he’s not going far enough. The Democrats either evolve or die. The new DNC Chair Ken Martin is an establishment milquetoast pol who recently went after Hogg for his strategy of primarying weak incumbents. He appears to be listening to James Carville’s advice.
But who else is listening to James Carville? None other than Palantir, the most dangerous company in the world, which was founded by the living embodiment of the Antichrist, Peter Thiel.
Carville has been paid by Palantir since at least 2011.
Palantir, as I recently wrote, is trying to land a massive contract along with SpaceX and drone company Anduril to create a literal Skynet that the US government can rent.
This morning, David Hogg mentioned the huge contracts Palantir has already gotten from the government since Donald Trump was elected as an issue the Democrats should use in their messaging. This seemed like a clear shot across the bow to the establishment and I applaud Hogg for it. Whatever you think of him personally, he’s trying to make actual substantive change in a moribund party that is less popular than Trump at the moment.
This is not enough, of course, but it’s a start. When the effort to overthrow the government failed on J6, and all the Q believers and MAGA cult members were kicked off mainstream social media, they reformed as an insurgency and created a network of activists that interrupted school board meetings, city councils, and town halls. They created podcasts, tours, and events that showed there was a real opposition to the democratic liberal order. And they went after the “RINOs” to create a movement that managed to convince the nation to commit suicide by electing Donald Trump, again.
Either the Democrats learn from this strategy and build an underground, bottom-up revolutionary movement of people willing to say the truth out loud and do true acts of resistance—like Chris Kluwe—or the revolution will come in future generations, after untold horrors play out.
We are living through a historic moment. No one can doubt that. So we must ask the question of ourselves: Do historic times call for ordinary measures?
I think not. Go Hogg wild.
