If you can't beat'em by the rules then 'anything goes'. what if Cannon is briliiantly playing the part of the Cannon taking out important judicial underpinnings and norms....isn't she a handmaiden in this tale after all? They did not come up with this playbook on the fly. They have plans B,C,D,E,F.....
