If those 5 SCOTUS justices wore balaclavas with their robes, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and an ISIS terrorist.

The Catholic Church, of which I once had a good feeling about, has a proven record of child sexual assault and cover-up. Not all priests by a long shot, but a disturbingly high number that includes some at the highest level. The cover-up runs wide and deep. All this is known and acknowledged, even by the Church itself. The power this organization has is staggering. Many followers find hope and solace, but that this organization is viewed by many powerful people in and around politics as their guiding light in the narrowest sense of religious interpretation, is a danger to our country. Religious extremists, Catholic and otherwise, must not control our government. Whether it's an allegiance over the US constitution to Rome, Israel or the "Word of God" in fundamentalist Protestantism, it all needs to be pushed to the backseat of our political life. Our founding fathers understood this and warned against it. Putting a religion, leader, oligarchy, or any other concentrated form of power over the rights and power of the people as given to us in the constitution and Bill of Rights is un-American and not what our country is supposed to be about. Its what the colonists fought against in the Revolutionary War. I respect if a person does not believe abortion is the moral choice for them, but it should not be the law of the land. The fact that folks want to ban it even in the case of rape, incest, and danger to the mother's life shows how extreme and anti-women this movement is. Must be stopped.

Find a rally this weekend. Hook up with some activists. Love seeing so many young men there supporting human rights. Schools out. NFA. Anybody know Steyer?
