Thanks for researching this further. You probably looked at the Wikipedia article.

Myth and ideology are similar but straight ideology or philosophy doesn't sell as well as myth or religion. There needs to be a inspiring story or narrative that draws people into acceptance and collaboration. Making inhabitable Mars habitable instead of keeping Planet Earth habitable doesn't seem destined to draw too many intellectuals or the masses though.

Mars is an obsessive compulsive ideation disorder with Musk. Maniacal obsessions, either for good or for bad or somewhere in-between, can deliver incredible results. Musk is in control of SpaceX, Starlink and has a new contract for ground transportation. He will grab more power and control while he has the power to do so. The thought of him controlling our space as his private domain is an abomination; yet, this is what is happening.

History shows that the worst and most wide-reaching destruction is usually brought about by a single unleashed man obtaining too much power. (It's one reason we needed to move beyond ignorance and whims of kings.)

Thiel, Paypal Mafia, Curtis Yarvin and the Patchwork crowd are all trying to building their mental nobility around a new king of technocracy. News to J.D. Vance: the people are no longer mere peasants. We are humans with knowledge, resources and power.

We're not going forward to authoritarianism or backward to monarchy. We will build a new and better future with neither masters nor slaves.

Combination of people not learning history and science and people learning volumes about flying dragons and expanding universes and discrete silos has caused a problem in actual reality. Thanks Jim. Stellar work.
