Just speculation but this might explain why Biden left Chris Wray in post as FBI director, so it doesn’t look so political when Trump and co. get raided or arrested.
The same goes for Charles Flynn. He gets promoted to USARPAC, then when Mike later gets taken down by the DOJ or DOD court martial, the optics looks more ‘both sides’.
What I'm most worried about is violence or mass intimidation of voters and poll workers in the midterms by thugs (both civilian and uniformed; think "constitutional sheriffs") and radicalized "poll watchers" primed to see fraud in anything they don't understand.
All it takes is one recruit to do something even without a plan, so gaslighting it is. I personally agree this round of media idiocy it is unlikely to produce an attack as this alone isn’t enough to incite.
