In 2021, Rep Brendan Boyle (D-PA) introduced the MEMBERS act to require a seat in the house for speakership. I’m trying (without luck) to see what ever came of that. We need it.
Note Grassley would be “normally” be Pro Tempore as oldest Senator but Grassley has the remaining mental capacity of a cornstalk and gets all his words manufactured for him by Mike Flynn’s allies Barbara and Michael Ledeen. He would have no problem with it.
