Wow! I wasn't expecting that Byrne being a CFR member would check out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not thinking like some of these QAnons are now that he's a "Deep State" chaos agent, but it does add to the weirdness that it Patrick M. Byrne. Byrne used to run in pretty normal circles. His godfather is Warren Buffet. Somewhere along the way he got compromised. I don’t know if that was Butina or something before, but he really went off the rails after meeting her.

He was drawn to the fringe before that, by getting into crypto early and starting a website defaming short sellers. He also funded the Corsi linked swiftboat conspiracy.
I actually think he identified a real problem with naked short selling. I saw it going on with companies doing death spiral financings. I even lost some money on some speculative "investments" in a company that I later realized was involved in one of those called a ""PIPE financing. That was before I realized that kind of speculative investment was just gambling and I'd have had better odds in Vegas. I don't know whether Overstock was really being victimized or Byrne was using it as an excuse, but it was a real problem IMO. Somewhere though he sure seems to have gone off the rails. He claimed he was cooperating with the "men in black" all through his affair with Butina, but he also claims he cooperated them to set Hilary Clinton up to accept a huge bribe as some ploy to allow Obama to control Hilary which sounds like absolute horseshit to me. He's a freak show.
I think we will all look back on #Satangate as your greatest achievement Jim.

I did not know that Patrick is Warren Buffet's godson, Michael. However, I do know about his relationship with Maria Butina.
