Jim, According to Eric Garland and Zev Shalev on Zev's podcast "Narativ", the Alfa Bank info was pushed by Sussman for the Clinton campaign. Sussman brought it to the attention of Baker, the lawyer for the FBI, claiming he was acting independently and not for the campaign. The info was false and it has backfired on the DEMS.
So it appears from what I heard on "Narrativ" that Sussman and co. handed Trump and the GOP a gift on a silver platter. The DEMS could have promoted true info about Trump-Russia, instead they promoted this bogus info and did so in an improper way. This situation/case has caused a lot of distraction from the fact that Trump is a criminal working with other criminals to undermine democracy in the USA.
Apparently, Flynn was more effective in enlisting the aid of the FBI to creat an "October surprise" in the 2016 race. According to Eric Garland and Zev, the FBI being politisized by either and both sides is a major problem that needs to be fixed.
