Good article.

Just because libertarian minds are litterboxes doesn't mean Eddie the treacherous should insult cats. Someone is trying to appeal to me in another forum right now... saying that people should be nice to Snowden because he can't just say whatever he wants in Russia. Anyone who has tried to explain that lack of free journalism, to the same groups perpetuating this side narrative, knows that this argument starkly contrasts with years of their scorn for Western standards like voting and peaceful demonstration and their praise for butchers like Putin and Assad... I boil when I see him featured on our mainstream news as some sort of privacy advocate or whistleblower... there are legitimate programs for whistleblowing and that's not what he is... much like Assange, journalism isn't even a consideration in the case against him, they aren't wanted for journalism... Assange was indicted for hacking NATO countries to oversimplify, not journalism. People who refer to him as a whistleblower are hurting the people who actually do speak out legally. Some agencies may need better ombudsman panels or oversight or whatever discussion people want to have but the people who aren't going to decide what that looks like in this country are extremists telling each other fairy tales about "establishment" partisans and repeating other various Russian propaganda aimed at hurting our elections... His point in saying this is to provide a voice they all know to the defection walkaway campaigns that right wing ops run to pump 3rd parties and ghost candidates, IMO.

"Mike Flynn showed his loyalty to the Kremlin by allowing Edward Snowden to access top secret military secrets that damaged the United States and put countless people in danger."

I commented a couple times in his thread. Can I quote you when I reply again?

Yes, it IS like being afraid of cats, but only if those cats are 150# jaguars silently stalking you to bite thru your skull? Seems . . . justified, the fear.
